Got one in the "tidepool" shade 6 months ago and I'm still in love with it. I also noticed how easy it tunes, and stays in tune. Since I'm a true bedroom musician I'm don't mind it being not the loudest.

That's a cool uke - and it's electric! Nash The Slash would have been all over that thing if he'd seen it (if you don't know who Nash is, he was the violinist/mandolinist of the Canadian prog group FM, before he did a solo career doing all sorts of weird rock and alternative music, his thing was using all sorts of processing on his instruments).

pedalboard suggestions... #1 add a compressor to give it a bit of sustain and 'leveling', THEN run the fuzz... Even better, try a 2-down-octave pedal (with compressor)... see if you can make a true PocketBass. (and yeah, I realize this is a 2 year old review... I just picked up the Tele Uke and I'm giving it to my bass-livin BIL for xmas. Gotta spread the love).

That's the coolest most ridiculous thing ever.. Perfect. Also just great video. Proof to some people completely against having children that it's worth it. What do you think he would pick? All his gear, or his son? Its also special to see a son take after his father interests so early. Its all I could ever want. Sorry for the rant..

I love these designs but the $200 price tag is a bit too much. You can buy a really good uke in the reange of about $90-125

Does your have any flaws in the paint finish? My tide pool uke just came in and it is a mess. It looks very cheap with over spray, dust under the clear coat, etc.

Fender does carry a few models that are "traditional" ukulele shapes... check out the Grace Vanderwaal and Billie Eilish models, also they have tenor model that is typical up a shape. I am loving these Fullertons tho!!

Brand recognition, in this case, somewhat works against them... hence the lower price for what you're getting. In uke terms, Fender simply doesn't have enough of a history making quality ukes. Most folks who are collectors may pick one up for kicks, but it's unlikely to replace their Hawaiian ukes from dedicated uke builders. That's not to slam this uke. It's cute and would absolutely be fun. But the sound is a far cry from traditional ukes. Having said all that, I adore the look of the butterscotch tele uke they've got and may pick one up at some point. Thanks for the demo!

@@60CycleHumcast Completely agree. Though I could see a lot of uke collectors wanting one cause it's so out there (in terms of ukes). We've got a number of ukes in our home... but there's always room for one more. Ukes are the Pringles of stringed instruments.

first glance, just looks like a novelty. but holy fuck, it delivers. i never had a ukulele before, kind of want one now! also, it sounds like you are about to play Silent Night every time you hit that one chord.
