side by side with a regular p bass would be useful, but I can already tell this bass has so much funk in it

As always - great review! One of the best non-CS basses Fender makes. Cool pickup, and I believe unique pot configurations too.

Love your reviews, Anthony. Another good here. I’m not a big Green Day fan, but I love these 50s style basses and decided to give it a go. I’m blown away by the acoustic quality not even plugged in, but then when you plug in; WOW! Best production Pbass pickup imho. This sucker cuts through the mix like a razor blade. I own a bunch of basses and played a bunch more, but this bass is one of my favorites. And it is light AF. Best I’ve ever played out of Mexico. Pure Pbass tone. Worth every penny.

Killer sound! And best review / demo I’ve seen of it. I love my Mike bass. I have exactly what you have there but I never quite got that tone out of the box. Please could you tell me what setup you are using? Amp, EQ etc….

This is a simply fantastic bass. I have the blonde version with rosewood neck. Very solid, reliable and predictable sound thanks to the choice pick-ups. Takes a real thrashing if you throw down the hammer. Pairs perfectly with the 800 series head if you're looking for true Dirnt sound. Highly recommended.

Great demo! I have two of these myself, one from the road worn series in blonde with a maple neck and one from the mid 2000s, gloss black with a rosewood neck. Was this a newly received bass from a trade in/consignment or is the bass being reissued?

Anthony, how does this pickup compare to the Fender original '60? I hear talks that they are the same just the '59 is worn.
