Had the LT 50 for just over a year now and use it to practise daily in my music room and also use it at band practise playing classic rock and blues in a 5 piece band. I use the Deluxe Clean settings that I have adjusted for clean, mild overdrive, medium overdrive, chorus settings. Takes pedals well, but I mainly use Boss OD 3 for certain tones with my Telecaster. It certainly is loud enough in a band situation, and I play it flat on the floor - no tilt back or amp stand required. I found I needed to set the mids at 5 in a live band setting to be heard in the mix. I certainly would have no problem using this amp in a live gig setting as most bars and venues do not want loud bands anymore. If more volume is required, I would run a mic in front. I found the Deluxe clean setting the most accurate and useful settings on which to build a tone platform for my playing with a TELE or Strat. This amp delivers what I need, and is extremely light to transport. Hope this helps.

Hi! Thanks for this information. I have this amp, too, and I bought it for band practice and live gigging. The music shop guy persuaded me that the 50W is more than enough for my goals. Now I read your comment as an evidence to that 🙂 Anyway, as the presets are limited to 30+30 I use the amp with its footswitch. The 3rd function of the switch is to select/deselect parts of the FX chain. So I usually add more effects to my custom presets, and I control the different effects from the footswitch. This way I have almost a traditional pedalboard. Of course, there is a limitation of not able to switch between presets very fast - needs some time. So, a solution depending on the performance. Thanks again 🙂

Hi! Thanks for this summary. I have this amp for more than a year. The reason for it doesn't mute the speaker while the line out jack is on is that the line out and speaker volumes can be separately adjusted - this makes the amp usable also as your monitor when gigging, giving you a free choice to make your own monitor volume (for smaller performances it is a real gift). Regarding the noise - at glance I thought the same like you like how Fender could come out with a noisy amp. Later on I found out that the cause of the noise was the bad shielding of the electricity in my flat - it is solved and the amp is now completely without noise (in fact, it was not the manufacturers fault) Luckily, because if I would use the built-in noise gate all the time, I would use one slot of the Fender pre FX chain for that purpose without adding value.

I bought this amp specifically for the line out feature; Frankly I cannot comprehend why anyone makes an amp of any size without this, but they're not easy to find. Anyways the point of my comment really is that the way you disable the speaker when using line out is to turn the master to zero. That's what my expectation was before purchase and that is literally the first thing I checked when I set the thing up. I would have been pissed if that had not been the case. And it's a great amp. I love the sounds of many of the built in presets, and the general sound of the amp playing through the builtin speaker is very nice. I would buy this amp again - and I probably actually will, so I can keep one at my friends house where we generally gather to jam, and one at my house for my own separate use (yeah, I'm the guy that hates carrying anything around!). Great review video, lots of great info, thank you!

I’m thinking about getting this amp and my only concern was menu diving through the presets but your explanation while showing a closeup of the screen was super helpful. Looks much easier than I thought it might be. I’m in! I have a Boss Katana 100 already but want something lighter and less than 20 pounds sounds perfect. Thanks for a great demo!

Great that the line out doesn't disable the speaker! And thanks for the great work around! Some of us old guys need to hear the room and not the mix. Too many sound guys are not familiar with the song or the band so the mixed gets half-baked.

Good choice just picked up the 50watt at Sam ash in Hollywood ( they’re closing down) got it for 175! So far it sounds extremely good even when at max volume it doesn’t drone or sound muddy like most affordable amps ! Sound is very crisp and clear even when you wanna go crazy with the gain and distortion . Best of luck!!

There are a video comparing lt50, katana mk,marshall and one more amp out there. Thru that video I agreed that LT 50 is the most boxy and like a blanket on it. But wait, i got both katana mk1 and Lt 50 and i sold the katana away. Considering i am using the amp at home, i need something that is "comfortable" to listen to,and it makes the playing experiences good. When i am playing alone, i do not need that raw prickly tone that katana has, especially when there are no bass and drum buffering it. The picking experiences is really comfortable with LT 50. The sounding is sweet. I have some pedals for gigging, i linked them up to my LT50 and yes it does roar raw like amp in the room. But if you want a modelling amp that sound both comfortable and tube amp like in your room. I guess Spark 40 is the best. Yes i got it for my son. To be very frank, when both are played together, it is almost impossible for the LT50 to cut thru the mix. But i still love my LT50 as when i play alone, the sound quality is heaven. I guess Fender has considered well fender LT50 is used for room practise. Is there better amp? i would think that is individual user experiences and needs.

The Katana is a solid state amp while the LT50 is more of a modeler. The Kat has its own sound while the fender is trying to emulate the sounds of different amps. That’s the main difference in terms of sound and tone. I hate that the LT50 has no physical reverb knob. That said I have found that the LT50 has the ability to create some great tones when you build your own amps and save the settings. I have saved up all 60 presets. Some of my favorite amps are the Excelsor, the Princeton, and the Tweeds. Really good starting points to build your own sound from. The Excelsor is the best to me to build from because of the power and the mid range punch. It cuts through any mix imho. All in all this is a really good practice amp, and a pretty good gigging amp for small venues. I love the power of the 50 over the smaller LT25, which allows you room to make up some great tones. I think it’s worth the price you pay. But if I had to choose between this and the Katana I would choose the Katana. However, they are two different types of amps as I said at the beginning. The LT50 is a modeler so if you’re looking for those amp tones, you may like it. Also, the Katana sounds better cranked like a tube amp while the LT50 sounds better less cranked, which is probably due to the speaker more than anything else. That’s my two cents.

What does the “headphone input” input? Your thoughts? Just kidding. I know you meant, “Output.” BTW, I like the fact that the speaker is live even when line out is used. It allows me to use my LoudBox Mini as a “boost” PA when I need just a little more volume.

whats the difference between the mustang lt25 and lt50?
@mrzsmusiclessons
@mrzsmusiclessons Жыл бұрын
The Fender Mustang LT25 and LT50 are both modeling guitar amplifiers designed for practice and recording. Here are some of the key differences between the two models: Power: The Mustang LT25 has a power output of 25 watts, while the LT50 has a power output of 50 watts. This means that the LT50 can produce louder volumes and more headroom than the LT25. Speaker: The Mustang LT25 has a single 8-inch Fender Special Design speaker, while the LT50 has a single 12-inch Celestion Midnight 60 speaker. The larger speaker in the LT50 can provide a fuller and more powerful sound. Presets: The Mustang LT25 has 30 presets, while the LT50 has 60. This means that the LT50 has more built-in tones and effects to choose from. Controls: The Mustang LT25 has basic controls for gain, volume, treble, bass, and master volume, while the LT50 has additional controls for presence, reverb, and power amp damping. This gives the LT50 more flexibility in shaping its tone. Connectivity: The Mustang LT50 has additional connectivity options, including an XLR line output and an effects loop. These features can be useful for recording and integrating the amp with other gear. Overall, the Mustang LT50 is a more powerful and versatile amplifier than the LT25, with more presets, controls, and connectivity options. However, the LT25 may be a more affordable and compact option for those who primarily practice at home or in small spaces.

There is a twin clean "amp" selection in this LT50. I used pedals on it and it is quite acceptable. Set to "none"for stomp, mod, delay and rev and other and analog pedals works quite well with it. But sometimes you have to off the amp to let the pedals signal go thru well. I used Revv, boss ds2, ibanez ts9 on it and i love it.
