So many people complained for years about guitar prices for good models. Fender finally answered the call. These are great guitars. You can upgrade things if you want for personal taste, but for $674.99 this is quite possibly the best Strat for the price ever made.

The fender standard tuners are 16:1 Ratio..nothing wrong with them...and the players Strat is on of the very best strats fender has put out in a long time the players strat are basically a reissue of the old American Standard Strats..Brilliant!

I don't know whether to go with this or the HSS for no noise. I play with a fair amount of gain (think Green Day, New Found Glory, and slightly harder stuff like Pierce The Veil.) Maybe do a comparison?

i bought a fender player strat a month ago, and omg the thing was a basket case when it arrived. pickup height was waaaay off, every string had a different height off the fretboard (action), bridge saddle radius was wrong, the nut slots were to small causing string binding, the trem spring claw was adjusted completely wrong causing the tremolo to be to be angled 45 degrees foreword off the body when the strings were tuned, the fret edges were very sharp, and to top it off there is a small ding in the headstock where some idiot at the factory hit it on something and didnt tell anyone, and QC didnt see it either. there is no excuse for letting a $650+ guitar be made that way, fender, pshh. needless to say i was pissed. i hate mim guitars, no pride or skill in their guitar work. anyway i put on new solid block saddles, roller string guide, locking tuners and had the nut slots sized properly and frets dressed. i did a full setup and now it plays really nice. im not a huge fender strat guy but that strat quack sounds great for certain things. ibanez rules! rock on......
