The video that was included when you bought the Chris Rea signature Stratocaster by Fender. Great guitar, i highly recommend you buy one if you manage to find one that's for sale. I will not sell mine for any price, though!

Always amazed at how humble and how much time a guy like chris, who sold millions of albums, put into explaining stuff (you already know if you've been playing for a while but still) while guys in music stores are so snobbish and aggravating to their customers....

Chris Rea is sooooo! naturally gifted----he's a multi-instrumentalist, has a great singing voice, and is one hell of a songwriter. When I was growing up I discovered him by and loved the song "Fool If You Think It's Over," which I heard on the radio in the 70's.

In Germany we had a TV-program called "Ohne Filter" (similar to Jools Holland´s show nowadays). All artists played live, from Larry Carlton to Al Jarreau. Many years I had the privilege to see lots of their rehearsals and shows in the TV-studio. One day one of the guest artists was Chris Rea & band. I sat at the table at his feet, 2 meters away, with free beer. Among others he played "I can hear your heartbeat" and "I don't know what it is but I love it". His sound was great and the band was tight. I was very impressed and me and my friends had a party!!

Thanks for sharing. I love me some Chris Rea. I know it does not make any sense for him to come to the States. But I wish I could here him live. I remember hearing him on top 40 radio around 1978. One of his first hit songs was released in the US. "Fool If You Think It's Over". For some reason I never pursued his music beyond that song. I was messing around with yt one day and I saw a video of him with Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings. It knocked me on the floor. Then I noticed a few other songs like Diamonds and On the Beach. I was hooked. Then I came across "Still So Far to Go- The Best of Chris Rea". Once again it blew me a way. I have been playing primarily acoustic guitar for 50+ years. When I heard his guitar playing I said WOW! Then I really started watching his vids from yt. Thanks for yt. I have listened to a lot of UK artist that I never knew existed unless they had an agent or US exposure. Quiet impressive and then I found out about his health problems. But he still pursues his art. That says a lot about his passion!

+vulkanizer He probably meant to say thousands and thousands of gigs and millions and millions of people. No way he could have played a million gigs. Absolutely no way. Several thousand, yes. BB King reportedly played over 13,000 documented gigs and probably a few more thousand undocumented ones. This would make it basically impossible for Chris Rea to have played a million gigs. Love him, though. Killer slide player, seems very humble.

A fantastic guitarist, song writer, story teller and vocalist and he has immense talent in a sea of musicians. I have read that his health is not well. Sincere best wishes to him, on his Road to Health! And thanks for playing and sharing your gift with the world. My mahogany Strat doesn’t quite reach Pinky’s heights ..... but it’s trying! Years ago, I was looking for "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" on Utube and was thrilled to find a gold mine of his music. Nobody plays a more ''dreamier'' slide than Chris. And oh..that voice. I feel cheated that Rea never toured the USA. I even asked at his FB site to come play in America, but obviously he didn't.

@Astrid I did a few searches that stated he never toured the USA. When he got seriously ill, I was saddened when I found out he would not do concerts anymore, but then I thrilled to see he was doing gigs again. The guitar sound is still there but age has caught up with his voice. What a shame that he did not get the fame in the USA that he deserved. ''All Summer Long (Shamrock Diaries)'' kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oqyWnaaTusqmiqs.html is a song that my ex-girlfriend & I cherish. Hauntingly, beautiful lyrics.....' 'All summer long we were happy we were one We didn't think of an ending to our play All summer long nights of wine, days of song It couldn't last, our ageing sun had to go I will always remember you Watching the waves in the wind The beach dogs hiding from the rain Suddenly my colours have turned to grey Will I ever see your face again And all winter long I will walk my lonely road Waiting for you and your return I will always remember you❤

My first Chris Rea album purchased was Shamrock Diaries, still one of my 2 or 3 favourite albums of all time. I've loved his music from the day I first heard him, such an under rated singer / song writer. Great video, pleased I stumbled across it.
