This has sold, but you can still see pics, specs here: www.stillkickinmusic.com/coll...
Today a quick look at this stunning Fender 70s Vintera Tele Bass. These basses are really fun if you're after a full vintage vibe experience. All specs conform to the 70s era and so it feels and sounds like the real deal. Nice quality, fit & finish from Fender Mexico on this one. I'd definitely recommend it.

I have an older, Squier Vintage Modified Precision TB, it's basically the same model, but it has a different color (it's a black sunburst with a black pickguard) and the neck profile is different (slimmer with a mix of a "C" in the first frets and a "D" on the later frets, sorry for my poor English), i have it strung with Rotosound Tapewounds and it sounds very much like an upright bass. Some months ago i checked out this one, and it wasn't bad at all, the mudbucker sounded that it had much more output because it was closer to the strings, so it distorted more, and the neck, even if it was quite chunky, it didn't felt like it would cramp my hand because it has the "C" profile and it wasn't too expensive when i checked out. I will later check the Squier Paranormal Rascal that it has the same type of humbuckers, but it's a short scale and the neck profile is slimmer, and if i buy one, it will strung it with flatwounds.

Hi, yea, that's cool. the Rascal could be fun but that neck will be very different with the short scale. Still looks neat and has similar pickups. I think the quality level will be a bit higher on the Mexico Vintera than a Squier but more expensive too. Thanks!

@@stillkickinmusic The Vintera II was of very good quality as far as i remember and it was fun to play, even if i have small hands and the neck was substantially bigger than what i usually prefer, of the Squiers i don't really know as i hadn't played any of them yet, but i had read somewhere that the Squier QC had been better lately than some of the Fender stuff, so i have to play them to check them out.

Yea, I don't have huge hands but still enjoy those fat necks. Very substantial to grab onto. Yes, some Squier stuff now is getting better. I have heard in particular the "Vintage Vibe" series has been nice. As you said, you need to play each Squier because some will be good, some not so much. Vs. the Mexico stuff is more consistent quality level. Good luck!

@@stillkickinmusic I also played a 50's style Precision of that Classic Vibe series some time ago and it was quite nice, the pickup was quite different even to a typical P-Bass split-coil, but nonetheless, it was comfortable, it had a "Modern C" profile.

I had a 1974 P Bass I bought new for $400. Traded it in the 80s for a synthesizer. The bass had a solid, rich sound. Classic P Bass.

Wow $400 for a 74 P-bass! Worth a few thousand now! Well, just buy a new one and wait another 50 years....

@@stillkickinmusic I'm from Naples (Italy). Somebody in Northern Italy sold it to me coz he didn't like the vintage radius. I had a Classic '60s J once and I remember finding that radious pretty fun.
