hey fella's us grandpa's will surprise you. i am a grandpa, and i love YJM's playing, and to see someone in my age group playing the yjm strat, and the licks, feels good. palendre, keep it up. i love shredding on classical runs and riffs, it feels good. most people my age think i am nuts, because i love this style of playing ( and many other styles too ). Yngwie, like Uli jon roth, has taken classical music to another modality. I feel good seeing you play . peace

Never been a fan of Fender's, except for bass guitars because I play bass and they sound great, but man this is enough to proof that it isn't the type of guitar that matters-its the guitarist.

your on the right track. I have been there. Your ready for the next step. Next you need to learn to sweep diminished and minor arpeggios. Now since you already know where the 3rd, 5th and root are (because you learned sweep arpeggios) knowing the rest of the notes of the minor/harmonic minor and phyrgian modes of the scale will come very naturally and you will find yourself familiar with the whole neck. Sweeping arpeggios will also immensely clean up your touch and make you very precise.

Cool video. I have never even seen a scalloped neck guitar in person but have been thinking about buying a malsteen strat for a long time anyway. Do you find it hard to switch back and forth between scalloped and non scalloped necks?

Great playing! You should use a bit less distortion for an Yngwie like tone, the one on the video resembles EVH more. ... And playing with no distortion is awesome for cleaning up the technique :)
