On Thursday 24th March, Fendt UK very kindly brought their Fendt 1050 Vario and spent the day with us. We understand that at the time, this was currently the only Fendt 1050 in the country, so we felt very privileged to have it with us.
The day started off pretty wet and it continued to rain all morning. Not the ideal conditions for ploughing and certainly not for filming! We dropped the tyre pressures and set off - we were amazed with how well the Fendt 1050 handled our Kverneland 10 furrow plough. We were working at 300mm deep at a speed of 9-10kph. The tractor would be able to go quicker but Fendt didn’t want to damage their tyres too much on our flinty land.
After ploughing approximately 30 acres we decided to swap over to our drill. By this time the weather had cleared up and it was better for filming. You’ll see more of this when we release Part 2 of the video!
