for all those wondering about the famous sentence"the butler and twin brother princess Riliane of lucifen, Allen Avadonia, of the kingdom of lucifenia, is possessed by the sin of pride" here is the answer to all your questions: Allen is indeed possessed(just like his sister) by the sin of pride, in the chronicles of evil story, atleast) because in truth, Allen is possessed by the 8th deadly sin. named "vaine glory" because and yes, at the very beginning, there were 8th deadly sins. the 8th capital sin was then removed by Pope saint Gregory l the great, claiming that vaine glory was none other then a second facet of the sin of pride, the chronicles of evil therefore based their story following the decision of Pope saint Gregory l the great. which, after removing vaine glory, will reduce the number of deadly sins to 7 what is "vaine glory"? you tell me. well, vain glory is the reason why pride is considered the worst sin today. vain glory is the obsessive desire to obtain consideration. this sin is considered today as a facet of pride, but vain glory is more insidious, more vile indeed, the other deadly sins(envy,pride, laziness, anger, gluttony, lust and greed) are easy to recognize and therefore easier to combat, this is not the case with vain glory which uses many ways to decieve us, when we think we have gotten rid of it. this sin returns in another form. the other vices have only one form of temptation, while vain glory has a multitude. she knows how to vary and multiply temptations. it leads to hypocrisy and false and modesty, it blinds us, it flatters the ego. (and in the story, allen flattered riliane's ego. in the chronicles of evil story, allen really fooled us all with his vain glory into believing that he was the nice innocent brother saving his sister whom he loves her despite her being possessed by a demon like pride. vain glory is exactly like that. he saved Riliane to be this kind, innocent brother in the eyes of his sister as well as in our eyes and enjoy the glory that a hero has for this act. he went so far as to sacrifice himself for this "glory" .(hence the name "vaine glory", because it is glory in vain). during his lifetime, he was ready to flatter the ego of his sister Riliane, and obtain her consideration, granting him all his slightest whims no matter how destructive they could be, even for him, his desire to please (caine gloire) was more powerful then his love for the green-haired-lady Michaela. reason why he killed him. allen is far from as innocent as we are all led to believe in this story, he embodies the worst of all sins, the worst facet of pride. and proof that this sin is the most powerful of all that none of you noticed untill now. in the song " créSsrupule" we understand very well that the twins opened the box together and when the moment the demon of gluttony asks them to share their meal, the twins both respond with their very distinct facets of the sin of pride. Riliane refuses out of pure selfishness. while allen accepts, this acquiring the vain glory of being the "good guy" and liked by the demon, vain glory is so insidious that it hides behind a bunch of good deeds which, however, are never done in good faith. but only for glory, vain glory i hoped this helped you understand the story better. and you see me very sorry for spoiled your image of the very kind allen with the violent truth. Allen was not possessed at any point during the Story of Evil in the Evillious Chronicles. The concept of vainglory has never appeared in the series, or any of its English fan translations, and as for the Deadly Sins, the series is explicit in its multiple explanations of how Hansel and Gretel split it into seven pieces with seven vessels, not eight. Vainglory refers to unjustified boasting and excessive pride in one’s achievements, which is something that Allen never embodies at any part of the series, rather choosing to hide his skills.

Came back to make an edit. Stumbled upon what you’d added after my comment. “non of you will believe me” Yeah, ‘cause you made up a definition for vainglory, altered its nature to fit your needs, and then headcanoned the shit out of the story when I told you that this didn’t appear at all in the Evillious Chronicles, and the story is very explicit about that, even going so far as to name the Demons of Sin who represent the Seven Deadly Sins so that we know who’s who. There weren’t enough people on Climb One to fill the role that you’re suggesting, so it’s a physical impossibility. There’s no proof of literally anything that you’ve written, even what you edited in after my comment. It’s not even more insidious. It was just deemed to already be an aspect of the sin of pride. As such, everything that was vainglory was folded into the sin of pride by Pope Gregory. As such, everything that vainglory ever was was displayed through Riliane, other Pride contractors like Kyle, and Marie Annette, the Demon of Pride.

@@Kumahachi8I agree for basically everything. I mean there was a reference to the eighth sin in ma survival where each girl is meant to represent two of the sins. Milky-lust greed Elluka-pride sloth Irina-envy wrath Ly li -gluttony vainglory. I'm not 100% sure what even is vainglory, I always assumed it was just another part of pride

@@lol-ye9jx Yeah, they were meant to represent the Eight Evil Thoughts, which acted as a precursor to the Seven Deadly Sins. Basically, they all embodied an aspect of evil before the Seven Deadly Sins and the Demons of Sin ever existed. But, yeah, it was ultimately just an aspect of pride that was loosely linked to envy. There was never any corresponding sin other than Pride, of which vainglory is a part.
