We are not sure if the fee is charged to simply change flash patterns. We believe it's only charged for configuration changes but haven't gotten a straight answer yet about that. If you look at their website and view the Quantum items. You will see a mention of the 30 days you have to configure the item.

The 30-day limit is how you configure the colors. The patterns are always changeable. I believe you have 30 days to configure which 2 colors you're using. Let's say you would buy a dual fusion light bar with red/white as the color. You can't just decide, "Hey, I want it to be blue/amber today."

The Quantum is actually not complicated at all. So our understanding of the Quantum is it is so that the end user only has to pay for whatever configuration level they require. I'm not sure what pricing you have seen but to unlock one at the Quad Color level is the same cost as purchasing a Quad unit. The Quantum series is in no way more expensive than the Quad series. If you purchase a Quantum ILB for example and only unlock it in a single color level you will pay the same as you would for a Fusion-S ILB. An advantage is that at anytime in the future that Quantum ILB that's unlocked in single color can be upgraded to dual, tri or Quad Color for a fee. Which we believe adds resale value. Not to mention that whatever color level a unit is unlocked in, it has the ability to use any of the four colors(Red/Blue/Amber/White).

@@412psekustomzllc7 yeah but the quad is what makes feniex. They are just another light company without that. So if i wanted a single color light bar why not go with whelen or soundoff or fed sig? Or just a fusion.. Why limit the quad? I dont like the idea of physically having something and not having access to all of it. That stuff only flys online, this is the real world. If i buy a product i want all of it. Same reason i will never buy a tesla. If you buy a ford or a toyota or a Chevy or whatever you get what you pay for. You buy a tesla and you have to buy an upgrade to get your fog lights to work, or to have a sounds sysyem, ect. It's complete and total nonsense. Feniex just ruined their company with this cheap move.

@@412psekustomzllc7 and what the hell is up with the USB!? I dont want s laptop in order to use my bar! How insane and rediculous! Wanna know how you change color or pattern on a whelen? A button. Thats right, a button thats always there and avaibile. Or for the smaller things, a wire. Just a wire you can tap... now you need a whole computer to work the bar.. Bad move feniex.

@@beakfish7319 The point of Quantum is you can purchase the bar at a set, low price and upgrade it later if you need. With Quad, you pay for all of it at once. Its a budget bar. The USB also makes it 1000x easier to program and deploy.

We haven't received an answer as of yet what their fee will be. I couldn't see them charging an upgrade fee just for access to configuration changes though.

That is a good question. At the moment I don't have the answer. I would reach out to Feniex Tech Support. We haven't attempted to configure one how your describing.

Ok so let's tackle one thing at a time. So as far as mode priority, these operate as all Feniex multi-mode equipment has in the past. Mode1 is the lowest priority, mode 2 overides mode1, mode3 overides 1&2 and so on. As far as color level goes. If your only utilizing one color at a time you should only need the single color level. I would reach out to Feniex to be certain that you would have the ability to choose a different color for each mode you program. Because we haven't done a setup yet similar to what you described. These can be operated by utilizing the Quad Converter or by simply using low current trigger wires. They come equipped for either mode of operation which is the choice of the end user or upfitter. These also feature all the same functionality as past generations. So I would say you should be able to accomplish what you described with only the single color level unlocked. But I would maybe give their support team a ring and just varify before pulling the trigger.

@@412psekustomzllc7 thank you so much for responding. I will try to reach out to Feniex again and see what they say. Just so I understand though the normal products had just three modes one being the lowest priority three being the highest, So you’re saying in this sense one is still the lowest 10 is the highest, so whichever has a higher number that’s being triggered at the time will take priority. And yeah I’ve asked a few other people the same question that since I’m only using one Color at a time, could I get away with just the single color option or do I have to get a tri color because I have no use for blue in this particular build. It’s a curious product and I kinda like it. I had one pretty poor experience with $6,000 worth of quad sticks on a truck I did trying to utilize the quad converter. And it would not operate at all. Even tried replacing the converter still wouldn’t work so I had to run all the trigger wires for each bar a total of 8 of them to a central junction box and use them that way but I’m still having a problem with that truck to this day. I have to continuously every couple of months reset all the lights cause they’ll randomly start to just steady burn them even with no power going to any of the triggers. Customer installed a back up alarm and somehow that’s messing with the system also but what’s funny is the system is completely isolated from the vehicle that uses no triggers with the exception of parking lights but that’s runoff a solid state relay so essentially the entire system runs off a battery , so main power and ground is the only thing it shares with the rest of the truck and we cannot figure out how a back up alarm is somehow affecting the lighting system that theoretically only shares a chassis ground or the negative post on the battery. However I love the lights. I also love what I do and I love playing with new products.!!! I’ve also programmed a lot of controllers in the past, never programmed a light like this with a computer before, but the user interface looks remarkably simple. The only thing they could’ve done different I suppose is give you the option for each mode to make it a priority over the other Modes you choose but it’s just as easy to start at trigger 1 and work your way up to most important. When you pay to upgrade the Quantum line they don't do individual lightheads. You unlocking ever module in the lightbar.

Do you think so? I think the fact that we are the only dealer that explained the fee after 30 to reconfigure the Quantum products proves our CEO is transparent about all that we do. We are not sure why Feniex and the larger dealers don't mention this. Most companies these days are switching everything over the subscription based services. We are just not sure that's the best route for this application. Once you pay for your equipment most end users want the ability to make changes without paying an added fee.

@@412psekustomzllc7 Pretty sure he is saying its a bad idea on Feniex to charge like this. It's similar to have to pay a fee once a month to change your preheat oven temperature it seems like. You would imagine once you own the product, you shouldn't need a subscription to edit ANYTHING on the product. At this time I think I saw a video they said it is $360 bucks to upgrade from single to dual and so on; not sure if that is true but yikes if so. Did you happen to find out if it is for changing flash patterns or just the configuration?

You can either pay $400 for a Quantom and have the ability to get Quad functionality later for an additional $300, or you can spend the full $700 upfront on a quad and get it all at once. Either way, you are spending $700. Its just when and if you spend it that changes.
