A new AAA Torch from Fenix, this one is aimed at key chain.ring or pocket use. With 3 power levels and a fairly small form factor, I show the E01 V2.0 in detail and compare it to other AAA torches

I have carried a Fenix E01 on my key chain for several years. I love that very small simple AAA flashlight. I recently discovered that model was no longer available. I did find the new model that is now called the E01 V2. It functions the same so I bought two of them to be safe. I would be lost without my tiny key chain light. I do have larger flashlights with all the bells and other crap but they are too big for my key chain.

I have had the original E01 on my key chain for several years. I love that tiny light. I decided to buy at least one more but found out it is now called E01 V2. It works the same way so I bought two of them. I'd be lost without that little light.

I carry a Fenix E01 in my Leatherman Surge sheath. Really good mini EDC torch, makes we wonder how I used to do without it.

@@MrBazReviews I only like NW for bigger flashlights that's made to throw or flood 200+ meters, especially if it's raining or foggy. But I prefer my edc flashlight that's in my pocket everywhere I go to be CW. Just for that extra perceived brightness

I've been a Streamlight fanboy for a long time but recently started buying Fenix and am really happy with them. they seem to have crazy long run times compared to other lights with the same batteries. I have the E01 V2, E20 V2, PD36R, and the HM70R headlamp. The E20 is my favorite. Two AAs and the run times are 5/30/150/350 lumen for 200/93/11/3.5 hours!

Fenix have some interesting products, it's just a shame I don't get others to look at. I did like some areas of this, and some of the other ones I looked at. The E16 is a good one, but sadly they discontinued it for no obvious reason. So far the best 16340 I have used keep it on me all the time. Perhaps I might get other items to review down the road.

Totally agree with you about the E20 v2.0. Runtimes are on par with some 18650 lights, which is nothing short of amazing. And the beam itself is so beautifully crafted that it looks brighter than it is. The low setting (just five lumens) compares favourably with other lights of similar size dishing out 10 to 15 lumens. Fenix really made a winner with this one.

A nice little torch, mine is blue...but what's with the big CE and trash bin logo thingy placed so prominently on the head, and the fenix sign so tiny on the side.. most unsightly.

CE mark is for European markets, but you are right it doesn't have to be that big at all I believe Armytek are the biggest offenders for logos and markings, big ones at that splattered all over the body

This is my 3rd Fenix Light, I bought my first on few years ago. In this most recent purchase, I got the PD36R + E01 V. combo set. To be honest, I was disappointed with the E01 V2 because of the low output when I first turned it on. I always look for reviews on this site. When I saw this video and got the little nugget to turn the light two and three times it was all the way better, nice and bright! Thank you for that! I am a happy camper and the o'l lady is loving hers too.

I have two other Fenix AA lights and four other LED lights, three of which run on 18650 batteries. The 18650 lights are much more powerful but too big for pocket carries. I also have an old Maglight that I converted to LED. It now has a new life and is useful again.

Hi, full runtime at 100 lumens (50min) ? Or does it go down to medium few minutes later, when too hot or to preserve battery, like other Fenix flashlights (i think that the E05 goes back to medium after 3 minutes) The thing i like in the olight is that it never gets hot.

It drops a bit, but not too much down to about 80lm after 5/6 minutes, then holds that until the battery is flat.

Hi, I'm curious what your personal picks would be for this category (1xAAA), 2xAAA and 2xAA. It's always interesting to hear other people's preferences. As a side note, I like the Fenix site. I like being able to sort by release date and I generally find it easy to navigate. Olight's site doesn't seem nearly as user friendly and it seems like half the catalogue is listed as discontinued (not sure why they don't just have a separate section for discontinued products).

Kind of hard to pick out ones, there are not too many AA ones from Olight I think they stopped making them bar the single cell AAA, so choices are less nowadays. The Olight remains the smallest, but one power level. This is pretty good if you want the extra levels, would be ideal if they could have matched the Olight IMO for size. Olight have a lot of marketing going on their site, I'm not into that myself I prefer a cleaner layout and Fenix seems to offer that.

I currently have a Thrunite Ti3 but I'm definitely tempted by the Fenix E01 V2.0 for the mid setting that offers a nice compromise between brightness and battery life (the mid setting on the Ti3 is a little less than I'd like). I'm considering getting it in blue. As much as I like black, I kind of fancy a bit of a change. The single setting on the Olight puts me off a bit even though it looks like it has a decent throw for a small light.

It's an AAA torch, you use your own cells. You don't recharge Alkaline cells as they leak

I'd hate to have to plug the flashlight in to charge the battery. I use rechargeable AAA batteries and simply replace the battery. It takes less than a minute. I think that Fenix putting charging ports on their new models is a mistake. I have at least 8 LED flashlights and only one of them has a charging port that I DON'T use.
