Grandmother and stepmother share their story of the loss of this 18-year-old loved one to fentanyl poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

Unfortunately, many drug dealers are fellow young people selling to each other. Remember that as you demonized "drug dealers". You have to remember that your drug addicted child might sell to a friend and accidentally get murder charges. It's a terrible thing to realize drug users "help each other out" by sharing and selling back & forth. Almost all of them do it.

Also what's lethal for one person is a good high to another, so you can't even know who it's going to be lethal to.

Compassion hasn't made the fentanyl epidemic any less devastating. The difference is 1. many of these people became addicted not by choice by but doctor prescription, 2. Fentanyl is a sedative it puts you to sleep crack makes you go out and kill people, the homicide rate for black men was 170 per 100,000. today the Average homicide rate is about 7 per 100,000 people. 3. there were very few crack overdoses, 9,000 per year was the peak overdose deaths for all drugs in 1998 today its over 100,000 per year. There is no comparison in fact they are the opposite in every way.

I’ve watched documentaries where CIA is watching a street corner selling crack and tons of people are doped up in front of them. No police were called. They simply gav the police the dope spots and dealers so the cops could get their cut of the profit. And you look today and the white population now has more deaths then births. I now see it’s never been a race issue rather a money maker for the US.

This step Mom was spot on with everything she said. I wish she could go meet with Greg Abbott and convince him to put it into law that this IS MURDER not a "drug overdose". There ARE prosecutable laws on the books that can be used to make those who supplied the drugs criminally responsible. The difficulty is finding the person and building a case that can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. I was a police officer in one state and had a relative die of an OD in another. I know all states have similar laws. If you contact Abbott's office, I'm sure you will be told that there are already laws on the books. In addition, the problem needs to be addressed at the source. Stop illegal immigration. Prosecute possession crimes. Build the wall and support Border Patrol.

lacing street drugs with poison is not a decision that the drug addict makes. Addicts deserve compassion , some people like you can overcome certain addiction but most likely will never be out of harm. The pain these families feel is immense. To brush up the dead of their loved one as a decision gone bad. Drug traffickers are criminals and murderers. May the judgment of the Almighty take those who poisoned our children accountable for their death. Selling poison is killing in the eyes of God.
@katelynflorentine
@katelynflorentine 10 ай бұрын
@gradosa8272 Whether or not drugs are laced with fentanyl, everyone knows they're inherently dangerous and you are taking a risk every time you choose to take drugs. It's a crime to buy drugs off the street regardless if they are laced with fentanyl. So there has to be accountability for both the buyer and the seller. Of course we should be compassionate and loving, someone has tragically died. But you can't say no responsibility lies with the user/buyer. Whenever we choose to risk our lives or commit a crime like buying drugs, there are consequences.

I'm afraid you're wrong on the choice part of the poisoned victim.People chose self medication over safety?When they purchase one single pill to another careless offender, moreover of the shape and form of percocet, they are certainly not told the true trash recipe and pseudo factory processes used for the fake percocet druglike they are swallowing.Drug dealers surely could sell a much less potent drug, instead of that, they just tell another big lie and kill.

Thank you for sharing his story. So sorry for your loss😑💔All these stories show taking street drugs are dangerous, too many are laced, no way to determine that ahead of time.

You are so right i use to do pills and brought them off the streets but i wouldn’t dare go back down that road in these days it’s far too dangerous and i’ve seen so many people i knew die from fentanyl, it’s just so heartbreaking that these people know it’s not the real deal but still sells them to people knowing that it could possibly kill them! Clearly it’s just about the money for them but i could not deal with the thought of that happening, to someone i sold a pill to.

I like how they put the dealer in prison like he's the cartel pressing the pills or forced the drug addict to buy and take a pill bc we say he's experiments with drugs like a science project.

The passion and love these two women show is truly inspiring. This is a “red white and blue problem” hit the nail on the head! This drug doesn't discriminate. It's killing the rich, poor, black, and white. This has to stop! RIP Kaden 🕊️ Stay strong Nana and Mom ❤🙏🏽

If you have a teenager or someone in your home that has taken drugs or you think they may, keep Narcan on hand. At least you have more of a shot at saving someone overdosing if you can catch it in time. It’s prob a good idea to keep it anyway if you have kids. So sorry for this family’s loss😢

Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free. It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.

I've been clean for 5 years and I still carry naloxone. Better to have it and not need it than the other way round. I live in Scotland and they hand it out at most needle exchanges.

All these young precious kids and adults are dying because dealers do not care. They don’t care who’s life it takes and the pain they cause for the families who are left to live with their absence. Something needs to be done about this. No drug is safe anymore. Not even weed. It’s scary how much gets smuggled into the United States. Dealers don’t know what they doing and cut the substances with Fentanyl!!! We need start educating everyone!!! Especially children. I feel so awful for all these families.
