I've said this so many times but this is NOT meant to be viewed as a remake. It just takes the simple idea and does its own thing. It's a "Director's passion film", not a cheap cash grab. I did not think 2005 was that bad despite what the other 17 yr old me from the parallel universe of 2005 thought. Similar to the slight variations of the personalities of the Biff's from the different parallel universes in Back to the Future.

In the original, yes. In the remake, no. If she went with the others to escape, they would’ve had to pay Fergie more money, hence why she only has 2 spoken lines in the entire movie.
