I think his attitude towards the end of his McLaren run in 2018 (which was totally justified) put a lot of people off him. The guys my hero so ive always stood by him

One of my favorite Fernando scenes is during his last race for Ferrari (a documentary of his last race). So let me set the scene: Fernando and his race engineer, Andrea Stella, just got back from the drivers briefing. They know they have a mountain of challenges ahead with issues after issues with the car. They go back to Alonso's room in the paddock to discuss strategy. There is an air of gloom around them because they know they're not competitive. Alonso, all worried about his race, enters the room and sets his bag on the table and with just the slightest bit of touch, the table breaks. Without missing a beat, Fernando looks into the camera like he's filming The Office and says: "Ferrari." Even the camera man was laughing.

Alonso has been a mentor to a lot of drivers. Sainz, Lando and even Zhou. Last year, Zhou said that Alonso took time when he drove Fernando's car to teach him a few things. Alonso accompanied him during the track walk to teach him about what to look for and etc. Alonso also took time to talk to Zhou about Zhou's telemetry data. Alonso didn't need to do that but he did. And Zhou said that that was the most any driver has helped him and it helped him prepare for F1.

what are you on about? in 2005 Renault's car was the fastest and most reliable out of all the top teams, Alonso only retired once in Canada because he hit a wall.

Why have equal engines? Then the mechanical and aero Design still play a role. If any, give them all equal cars but to keep some action there you also have to introduce penalty weights. Seeing the best driver win round after round for ages would be annoying and boring

I dont think so. Considering he has "only" two world titles, he is one of the most respected drivers ever. Even the British media respects him, not only those who like him but also those who hate him. Not to mention every single driver considers him a legend. 99% of f1 fans and 100% of f1 workers know that not all world titles are worth the same. Hamilton may get 10 wc, but he will never ever be considered 5 times better than senna or alonso
