@@martinschmiedt3075 modern f1 has little to do with those times in terms of reaction speed, mental capacity and physical strength required. And, a driver can be old and driving an F1 car with the age still showing, what I'm saying is that having a 42 years old guy at the top of his game is different, it raises the bar

Of course he's not a rookie, It's his 4th season in F1 (2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024).

@@Heyn_17 He started around 2003 I think and got the championship with Renault ( now alpine) in 2004 and 2005. Then he retired in 2018 (I think) and went into W.E.C. In 2021 he returned (nicknamed 'the rookie' by the new F1 fan generation for being great like Hamilton was in his first season) and is still in the sport. EDIT: jeez I get the joke you probably don't get mine, which is my terrible sense of humour!

@@prowlex_animations the yoke is, when Alonso came back, teams done rookie testing at the end of the season in Abu Dhabi, and Alonso was part of that test session, hence Alonso is a rookie, it's a yoke....a yoke

I’m 42 and been doing construction all my adult life. As soon as you get on the wrong side of 40 it starts getting more difficult. Your energy levels drop. You start realising you have to eat more healthy. His fitness is next level but even so you start getting aches and pains when you get older that you didn’t have when you were younger. It doesn’t matter how fit you are almost everyone suffers from this.

@@smith2781 father time is undefeated. I can wipe the floor with my students and then wake up feeling like I got hit by a Mack truck. There’s a saying that some days you’re the hammer and some days you’re the nail but at 42, every day I’m the board. 😅

@@SilentSamurai8 Im 38 and I feel every bit as fresh every day as I did at 22. I would say I am considerably fitter now too. I run a 5k in 15 mins now and I know guys in their mid 50s who are even faster. Most people dont look after themselves

@@FS-me8mj Max's 2016-2019 RB was in a similar place the Aston/Mclaren are today. 3rd/4th best Car depending on track. Still Won Races and fought for Poles every Year. He wouldn't win any Championships with the Aston but would make it look like a better Car than it is just like Alonso is doing atm.

@@pherri9889 Yes I agree. But practice makes perfect so does experience. At 45, he’s had the most races started and all of that experience isn’t valid? I was merely giving praise to Alonso to keep going! He may retire again? Already did once.

don't forget,despite the hype around Aston Martin,Alonso's driving a mid/low tier car :/ you can clearly see how their engine providers (Mercedes) are struggling like never before,possibly the worst engine of the last years indeed McLaren performs very well on the same engine but Aston Martin is still missing a wind tunnel and other crucial stuff to help out with aero and such
