No sychro means that you cannot just put it into a higer or lower gear at any moments, you have to match the revs of the engine with the speed of the gearbox. Great video !

to say, the clutch, the agressive cams,gears without syncros and long gears ratios makes its suffering to drive, i belive in lower than 3krpm this has no power to drive normally, without talk about the tiltings his gave to the driver on the video first parts haha, thats more like when u start to pull and get the feeling and u see youre 2nd gear almost at 200 can be terrifying if you dont know what youre doing

not saying he‘s an expert with dog-boxes, but you underestimate the gearing. from comments of other people who drove the f40 lm, it seems that first gear idles at around 60kmh (thats why it keeps pushing and shuddering at low speed). so imagine what speed 3rd will be. i highly doubt you can use 4th anywhere out of a track or german highway.

​@@gregstop8259 i mean that you clearly can't compare what speed you reach in low RPM second gear in any "normal old car" and a f40 LM. i'm 99% sure you can't stroll around in second or 3rd in a f40LM like he does. put short (my point in the first post): it might look like he is in too high gear, but im pretty sure he is simply limited by to tall gears and a demanding dog box in a car that is not meant to stroll around mountain passes. Try a normal 964 up a swiss mountain pass and you'll notice 2nd gear is too long, 1st gear is too short. so even "normal" road cars can be a bit limited under those conditions.

He knows how to drive it haha. The problem was that it didn't have the right rpm to go into gear I think. The engine and gearbox weren't really up to the right temp either.

@@theowild9532 he's struggling like you wouldn't believe, you can tell the whole time he's avoiding downshifts as he can't rev match correctly. One minute it's revving it's ring out, the next second he's laboring the hell out of it and burning out the clutch. Beautiful machine, but Gawd damn...The driving...

FYI the box in the f40 lm is unsynchronized.
