So good to hear the disregard for residual values. Love the concept of this new channel. Wishing you every success.

I fully agree what you are saying about the need of driving these cars. I have a 2010 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster with 130kkm what is about 80 thousand miles and it runs better every year. And I also agree about meeting new friends, interesting people and creating great memories… it is worth every penny.

Love it. Just got my 2006 F430 with F1 transmission a few days ago from the dealer here in Boston USA. A 15,000 mile example with every service needed completed....right down to the "sticky switches". Amazing car.

F430 spider is my favorite Ferrari. They are gorgeous still to this day. I’ve got a buddy of mine who has a black spider with full tan interior.

How could people hate on this car? It’s an absolutely gorgeous Ferrari. This is one of my favorite Ferraris and if I had the money I’d get one. I’ll stick with getting a Ducati Monster. Same Italian thrills for less money.

Amazing story, love both videos so far. I remember Simon and his lambo from back in the day. I bought my f355 at about the same time, 20 years later I still have it. Good look guys🤗

Great summary of ownership. I still feel the same as you when I see another and also remember what it was like as a young lad hoping to have one someday. I can’t believe how the experience exceeded my already sky high expectations.

Nice F430! on the hunt for F430 coupe now as we speak. I also see Mclaren 650s spiders for similar pricing and are very tempting as they are a decade newer and great value I believe

Great cars and all the better for being a manual. About 20 years ago, I hired a 355 for a weekend trip to Dorset which was great fun with the epic noise and the manual gear change which was so slick and satisfying. I assume the 430 manual gear change is similarly good.

Oh the 355 is such a great car, we have a couple lined up to feature on the channel and i can't wait! To answer your question yes the manual in the 430 is super slick and has a very mechanical feeling.

Good morning to you both. I have followed SG64 right from the beginning. I have loved the fact that you’ve put so many miles on it and used it for so many experiences. May I make a suggestion for your idea of showing cars that have been used for many miles, and owned for a while, the Noble video being a classic example, it is a fantastic original thought and I totally get not talking about bhp and it’s 0 to 60 time, however what would be brilliant to learn is the cost of ownership? you talk about owning your 430 for a long time and not worrying about depreciation, which is great but most of us do have an eye on depreciation, and it would be really interesting to know how much damage putting 40,000 miles on a 430 is over keeping it as a garage queen. What sort of money does it cost to run for 40k miles, and I am not talking the petrol cost. I run a Lotus V6 Exige, which I have no problem with putting miles on driving it to Europe, and enjoying it year after year after year, so I know my cost of ownership, and I would guess it is less than most people would think looking at it from the side of the road, always smiling! Look forward to the next one.

Drive your Ferrari or… You bought the ticket so take the ride People seem to forget that you are probably only going to have around 80 years or so on this planet based on current average life expectancy in the UK. Of that you will likely have 60 odd years of driving time, assuming you pass your test at 18 and hand your licence in at 78. Of that your window of being able to afford your dream car is further reduced, since you will likely have to work and save whilst going to college, buying/renting a property, building a relationship, maybe kids etc. Therefore your window of opportunity to realise your dream is likely to be 10-20 years…if you are lucky and don’t get ill or incapacitated. So, you get the chance, the planets align and you buy your dream car.......whereupon you stick it in the garage, drive it once a month because you’re scared to lose money on something that will more than likely depreciate anyway. For the likely time you are able to enjoy it, you should drive the socks off it and maximise your ‘return on life’ investment. Relax about the depreciation, you’ll be dead soon and it won’t matter anyway.

How do you and Simon keep your cars paint so nice? I feel like you guys would have insights into proper maintenance and care. I like the you mentioned how it added to your life; meeting people and gaining experiences. Often we overlook that when getting into a hobby thats expensive and it can change your life for the better.

Thanks for your comment. To answer your question we use the two bucket washing system to try and avoid swirl marks, both cars have PPF and at least once a year a good old polish with carnauba wax.

Even though I don't own a supercar but if I did spend £100,000 on a Ferrari, I don't think I can afford to just leave it in the garage either it'll just be a waste of money in a way. So yeah I'd say keep driving and enjoying it. Cars were never designed to just be sat around as garage queens with low mileage numbers for investment purposes if you want to invest probably best of in Stocks and Shares on companies that are doing well.

How many manual 430,s are there?
@DriversKeepers
@DriversKeepers 4 ай бұрын
Its hard to say, official figures are hard to come by but a rough guide is 10% of production, so around 1,500 worldwide. That makes them more rare than the scuderia.

I own a f430 manual coupe. From what I have read today there are around 1,210 f430’s registered for UK roads (excluding a few locked away in collections never registered). Official numbers suggest today there are 128 manual, split roughly 50/50 between coupe and spider.
