one funny thing about Twist and Shout is that when they recorded it, John was with a cold, making his voice rough, and they were recording the entire album in a day, so they were afraid that he would loose his voice

@someguyontheinternet2544 2 жыл бұрын
Ooooh so that’s why he had such a different voice in this song!
@Trevornator
@Trevornator 2 жыл бұрын
That is partially true. What really happened was John didn't have a cold. But since they were recording the whole album in one day, he was starting to lose his voice. So they made sure they saved Twist and Shout for last, because they all knew he will give all he has to make the song good and won't have a voice left to do other songs. So he did Twist and Shout last. They did two takes, but the first take was the best, so they went with that one!

Twist & Shout had quite the resurgence in 1986; with The Beatles’ cover of the song used here in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Rodney Dangerfield’s performance of the song in Back To School. Interesting fact: MTV, wanting to capitalize on the song’s success, tried to find a music video of Twist & Shout to play on the channel. They found it based on footage from The Beatles cartoon series of the 1960’s. The video was so popular, that MTV aired on weekends episodes of The Beatles cartoon show.

Wow, who knew that Ferris' normal voice sounds nothing like John Lennon but he can sing a little off time and sound exactly like the studio recording of Twist And Shout!

After this movie was released, sales of the Beatles version of this song jumped up again. As one newspaper writer wrote: This 80s generation is now getting a small taste of what Beatlemania was all about.

I've had ALOT of bad things happen in my life. So when I feel down, I pull this up, share it with my girls & always feel better. I know Paul Mccartney doesn't like the horns but we do. And we miss John. Remember, it wasn't ur song originally anyways. It was a great John Hughes movie, his best actually. Let's just all take the day off & enjoy it, right?

First time I saw this movie I soo badly wanted to go to a parade and just lip sync twist and shout and get everyone to dance... but thats just a dream as Im an introvert and the closes thing I've done was at my high school football game and I was in band. We played this song to cheer up our team after a tough lost and all the parents sang after two kids from our band began to sing.

I've always loved the diversity of this scene. Black, white, Asian, Jew ... then you have German dancers with Ferris, an American who's lip-synching to a British band that covered an American group.
