LMAO! NBC only ordered 13 episodes with an option to do an additional 9. The 13th episode didn't even air until August 1991. It was a major flop as NBC thought this was going to be their breakout hit with the tons of advertising and the Bueller movie fans revolted after the first episode

@@GSU2004 it was kind of the same with the Uncle Buck tv show, that one actually did get a full series order but the ratings went downhill and several episodes were left unaired.

@@jacksonteller3973 Yep, another John Hughes movie converted to a series. Hughes was not happy about that either as he was of the mindset of once a story is told, there's really nothing else to add nor do. When pressured to do such series, he came up with his visions for the characters pre or post the movie and they were rejected by network assigned producers. He got mad and quit as he should have. He was really livid about how both of the shows came out and said years later, well when you take a good thing, want to milk it for more money, it never ends well in most occasions. Hughes agreed to Home Alone 2 but the others he was done but they continued without him. There were talks of a new Ferris Bueller movie that Hughes allegedly wrote before he died but stated that era had passed along with Matthew Broderick saying he would not come back into his character as it was best for the time but a 2000s Bueller would be a disaster.

Worse, it lasted a full season at 13 episodes before the cocaine ran out and basically every executive involved has only produced trash reality TV from that point on. This was a literal career killer for everyone except for Jennifer Aniston who got lucky.

This show actually happened. I watched it when I was 9. It was baaadddd. Especially the first episode where he thought it was a good idea to cut a card board cut out of Matthew Broderick’s head off with a chainsaw.
