7:34 ! Yikes !! There's actually a wooden window frame !! Had no idea modern-day, 1945-on, diesel locos had any wood in their construction, Euro or US made !! It's quite a classy display !!! 7:36 Why would anyone need to block out the engine driver's identity unless permission had been dubiously granted to the film crew of JF (yuk yuk) !! Anyway, nice lookin' controls..3:24 Hard to tell which side is moving in this sector-plate-ops take, especially having never seen a ferry loading of this kind as an American rail, and US MRRer.. OH ! Wait ! It's on right side of screen that's moving, camera now on other side of train. 3:30 (watch at farthest right of pic/see fixed portion (not moving) ... Lot's a curved-diamonds all over !! Real, real meticulous, efficient I'd say !! Impressive Video. Will check others related.. Los Angeles

Great view of the locomotive! How many railway ferries are still active on the Baltic? Is it only between Germany and Sweden and Finland and Sweden or are there more?
@JustFerries3 жыл бұрын
Germany-Sweden and Poland-Sweden

Sweden and Finland use different rail gauges, so a train ferry will not work. However, Finland and Estonia have the same rail gauge, perhaps a train ferry could work out there.
@railion65139 ай бұрын
@@vulc1In the port of Sassnitz they have the Russian gauge tracks, so a train ferry works there. Also, only Finland uses broadgauge, Sweden uses 1425mm as well.

@JustFerries3 жыл бұрын
Diese intermodalen Züge kommen mehrfach pro Woche.Die Brücke in Dänemark ist für solche Züge derzeit gesperrt.

Super video with amazing diesel locomotive Nohab. How often shunting locomotive Nohab in port?
@JustFerries3 жыл бұрын
For the ships, it is mostly used when heavy trains are involved.

Take away the center buffers the Swedish Danish MY Locomotive is actually a F7 CSX Clinchfield FL9 Amtrak Long Island Railroad Metro-North🇺🇸 Derivative. Once you are past the ferry terminal Deutsche Reichsbahn DDR Hl signals PZB system is activated learnt that from Dovetail Games train simulator world Riesa-Dresden and Tharandter Rampe Dresden Chemnitz routes. The correct Shunter locomotive for the ferry terminal is a Deutsche Reichsbahn DDR V100 DB BR204 or DR V60 DB BR345 346. If there was a Trelleborg Sweden Lubeck west Germany DB BR363 294s are found. MY Locomotive needs PZB Befehl 40 PZB Frei PZB Wachsam Sifa switch

the locomotive looks somehow American, is that an EMD?

Was thinkin the same thing..But I believe it's actually a German made diesel.. They are/were into that double ended design; cab at both ends that never caught on in the US. The body lines ARE likely a lift from US covered wagons, F7s / E8s as all of it at that time was a move toward GM's swooping, graceful air stream , automobile lines (by Lowe I believe)....

I think these are built in sweden by Nohab. American design and engines. But a bit different to match Europe market. search for MY, TMY, TMX awesome sound :)
