I think what is the intent with M and this prelude song is making a theme of passion and energy and differences. This album's consistent in that every song is wildly different from one another - from fast paced and jazzy to chill and mysterious. A more 'typical' song with a guest voiceover, and an inclusion of an old classic - then followed by /death metal/, and concluding with a nearly pure piano piece that really grips at the heart. I think it fits for magenta - a weird outlier color, 'primary' in print, but one that doesn't actually exist on the typical rainbow spectrum. Where you'd place 'magenta' on the rainbow is on /either end/, both ultraviolet and infrared at the same time. It's a color that's hard to pin down and self-contradicting and I like how this album's vibe reinforces that. This little intro just sets you up for this being a really dissonant kind of ride on purpose.
