Great job from you and your team Paul. I’m sure you know that pushing through and managing change is one of the hardest things to achieve but you are making the best of all your resources and not afraid to try new things to see if they work or not. Hope all goes well and I wish I could assist more in some way from abroad.

Thank you very much for this. We had the pleasure of two days in 2019 on your railway. One day to Blenau and return and the next to Canaerfon and back. What wonderful days.

My congratulations to the planner(s?) and makers of this excellent video. It shows a great sellection of the work it takes to run this unique combination of the Ffestiniog Rly with its small loading gauge, and the newer creation - the West Highland Rly - powered by those, comparatively, huge Garretts, re-patriated from South Africa.

What a fabulous film! Thank you so much for all the skill and effort in making it. I keep on thinking - imagine if we could bring back the people who ran FR/NWNGR in the 19th century and see what they make of it all now.

The film referred to is in fact called "Festiniog Holiday" and is indeed a splendid production. I have a copy on Super-8.

Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! Loads of detail and some superb photography to boot! So many questions I might ask so, if I may, please could I ask if there are any plans to refurbish or replace the doors to 5/6/7 roads at Boston Lodge? They look satisfyingly time served but perhaps there maybe a case for a life extension overhaul? Secondly (and I'm sorry to ask this as you must get so fed up with the question!) Please could you give us an update on any future plans regarding the much missed Alco, 'Mountaineer'? Those of us of a certain age hold her very in high regard and would dearly love to see her running again. I realise that she was known to be sporadically temperamental and that it would need a good financial case to make the exercise a worth while proposition but is there any sort of appeal planned that might lead to her overhaul and restoration to traffic? Keep up the most excellent work and thanks again for letting those of us who live a long way away, have such a fascinating and up-to-date view of the F&WHR.

Firstly, we're glad you like our videos, Have you noticed that we also have a monthly news programme called 'Moving Pictures' which has its own KZfaq channel. To answer your questions; the shed doors and indeed the whole shed is up for renewal in the not too distant future so fear not. The missing part of 7 Road door is to allow the swallows that nest in the shed out of hours access. The Alco is on the list of locos to be restored and I believe their is a fund gradually collecting money for the overhaul. Virtually every part of the loco is life expired and of course when it last ran it was an oil burner. Gone but not forgotten.

Amazing. Now that Welsh Pony has been restored, will Princess ever have her chance to steam again?
@FfestiniogWelshHighland2 жыл бұрын
Princess will remain as the only un rebuilt loco as an example of exactly how the small Englands were prior to preservation.

Is it just me or does Blanche's whistle sound like a black 5?

What a fantastic film. I must say I absolutely loved the scene of the Garrett leaving with the heavy load, a fantastic catch! I don't suppose you have any PDFs available of that running sheet or others? I'm a developer for train simulator and I would love to create some scenarios for the brilliant route by SPRailways which could hopefully be sold at a small price to help raise more money for your railway.

~ Hi Sam, as the original route builder of the UKTS freeware version, I can tell you it is (or certainly was) a pig to make scenarios for as the AI always caused signalling issues! But I wish you the best of luck with your work on the SPR enhanced version, which has raised over £6,000 in support of the real railway thanks to Steve P and Xavier G for their work building the rolling stock, custom assets, and suchlike. Who do you develop for? If you need an FfR scenario tester, just let me know ;o)

I have a question is the green tender outside welsh pony's old tender?
@FfestiniogWelshHighland2 жыл бұрын
It has parts from it. It was widened and various other modifications made to it previously. Welsh Pony has a brand new replica tender.
@fx6r2 жыл бұрын
@@FfestiniogWelshHighland ok because on my visit there was a tender that was green with the Ffestiniog logo but thanks for letting me know!
