“Crazy” ? It’s the so called normals that ya need to be wary of. We all have a mask or persona that we present to the world and it does not necessarily represent our true self. Not many people openly discuss their intimate business with everyone they meet. It’s refreshing to hear people talk openly and honestly in these interviews. I dare say there will be people who would also find some of the things you do or have done to be crazy too.

Mark, I really appreciate the questions you asked her near the end of the interview, as well as all of your questions. They’re always thoughtful, not slanted one way or another, but they really emphasize the truth, or at least help lead the interviewee to discover their own truth. It’s always interesting to hear people speak on their own deviant/alternative lifestyles, but there is something to be said about how those choices impact them long-term. As someone who is happily married in a traditional family structure with kids, stability, practicing sacrificial love, etc, it can be difficult to imagine a lifestyle like Barbie’s. Thank you for shining a spotlight on these stories.

Really refreshing interview. I can definitely appreciate people that make it a point to be open about topics that many of us are so closed off about that we can’t even share them with our partners. Especially in a culture that‘a so repressed, seeing people that casually talk about their desires for the world to see makes me feel like I can definitely at least begin taking steps to expand my own sex life beyond what I’m comfortable sharing with other people. A key point of this interview happened at the beginning. When she spoke about high school she stated that it’s when she became “confident”… now it is all to often, especially for women that when they gain attention that is based on sexual attraction it gives feelings of validation that they may not have had before. It’s then very common that their brain will mistake the feelings of validation for confidence and self esteem. Now the issue with that is that it is like a drug and can become addictive and you need a constant fix and they end up “chasing that high” which leads to a constant progression that can be self destructive. Now that’s just a quick run down of some basic human development that may or may not apply to her.

Even with the abilities we gain in adulthood to realize, interpret, and sometimes to act upon our sexual desires, that aspect of our humanity remains so mysterious to most of us (and yes - count me among the baffled). Even in a day and place that is relatively open in this regard, the bravery required to willingly and honestly discuss our sexuality (individually with our partner or in an interview that will by seen by many) is relatively uncommon. Respect to Barbie Jean for sharing and to Mark for another brilliant interview.

Excellent interview. Well done Mark. Even though the topic was very sexual, the interview itself was not sexual. You strove to understand her perspective. And you invited and even challenged her to open up and be very candid about the downside of the her lifestyle. And took this from simple fantasy to reality. I was also impressed with her ability to talk so candidly and naturally about things that many people would be at a minimum shy about. She described acts and used so many “naughty” words so naturally like she was describing tying her shoes. This gave her a lot of credibility I thought.

Interesting interview. This person's not actually a fetishist, but somewhat kinky. It would have been beneficial to explore more the ups and downs, and history of how this person came to be. Better questions get deeper answers. Also, anyone having anal sex doesn't worry about "poop coming out" when they're into anal sex.

I feel what she's saying about sadism. That shit fucks me up, and I'm a straight guy, so people have *asked* me to do it. I don't know what it is, but I just can't ever bring myself to slap or abuse someone. Like, I feel like a complete shitbag of a person every time someone asks to be hit. And then when I deny it because it makes ME uncomfortable, they say I can't be dominant or that I'm too submissive of a person. That shit just pisses me off. I don't hit people, because if I'm hitting someone, I want them to suffer. I don't hit someone that I love and respect, I just can not make myself do it. So hearing about her experiences with sadists (especially ones that don't ask permission) being not particularly great, it makes me feel a little bit better as a human knowing that not everyone is seeking physical abuse for sexual stimulation. I can't judeg someone for enjoying something necessarily, but I'm allowed to have my own boundaries too - and being asked to be physically violent is a hard boundary for me. I'm just glad to know that there are some really kinky people out there that have a similar boundary, it makes me feel more desirable and more desired as a person by my partner when we share those kinds of boundaries. Anyway, I'm off my soap box. Hope the best for her, she seems like a kind person.

Respectfully, I disagree. This felt very cringey to me. This wonderful woman summed it up perfectly later in the video where she called it play time. The concept of falling in love with one person in a monogamous relationship and it being this wonderful thing is obviously not for everyone. Nor is it something that represents the pinnacle of happiness for everyone. His question about avoidance was spot on and she answered it perfectly. While this lifestyle may not be for you or me, it seems arrogant, perhaps ethnocentric to dismiss it as being less real or any less legitimate as a life choice. I fell in love, have a wonderful family, but there is no way I am pretending this is what ultimate happiness looks like. Great interview as always.

I actually see this as a sad intimacy disorder. She begins to reveal this at various parts of the interview, especially when talking about adrenaline and essentially the addiction to it. This is a coping mechanism to protecting herself from being hurt in the most intimate areas of a relationship. This isn’t refreshing, this is sad. What about the perfect power couple parents to the sexualized underage twins with early sexualized experiences…that onion was never unpeeled. Good questions asked, Mark. She’s intelligent and it seems she knows something’s wrong about this but denial is holding her back from recognizing and seeking help. The BDSM community is what opened her up. As soon as she said, "Fetlife," that explained everything. I'm well versed in that life. Sure, people want to be open and free, but they do not because it's not wise. There are risks involved. Not that there aren't protocols to follow to better ensure a desirable outcome, but the unknown is just that. The risk of disease is heightened in that lifestyle as well. I'm glad she was open about the reaction to a polyamorous lifestyle. No one can successfully live that way. People claim they can or do, but it's fiction. It causes chaos. Open relationships are chaotic. It sounds nice in theory, but it causes anxiety and confusion. Even with proper communication and being on the same page, anxiety presents itself. Ultimately, relationships go sour prematurely. I'd like to see an update to this woman's life in 10 years. That's another interesting element to these situations. Women begin losing desirability once they enter their forties. The community categorizes these women differently as well. There were numerous communities within Fetlife in the early to mid 2000s that were inclusive to women ages 35 and below. Now, they may have changed in the last several years due to the cultural demand for all inclusivity, but I don't see a demand being there for bottoms/sub/slaves. The reason for a follow up is to see how she feels about the community once on the other side. Will she feel that she was taken advantage of, used, and where will her self esteem land? It'd be fascinating to know considering she's emotionally healthy and doesn't come from an abused background. She's definitely a good study case. Thanks for sharing your story, Barbie. Be safe out there. Keep God close. Much love to you.

Ah, it almost sort of seems kinda like monogamous relationships line up in a way with bein' the democracy and/or republic / capitalist governances/societies of relationships. Whereby, I suppose the "thrupple" would maybe be socialism and then the all out free reignin' polyamory, or the completely open relationship would then have to be communism... Mostly due to how socialism, and communism, tend like on paper they seem and sound great but in real-world practice neither one has actually worked well so far, up to this point in time. But, idk...LmMFaO! Just a thought!

I happy for her looks like she’s happy and comfortable and Bravo to her. But I think while this may work for this individual but that line she spoke essentially “I think you should indulge in whatever feels good as much as you want” this would be a disaster for the majority of people. Knowing what you like and exploring to truly figure out who you are but self discipline and practicing moderation is vital. Discipline=freedom.

Marc doesn’t ask profound questions lmao. Just go back and listen. Most if not all his questions are close ended. And they are presumptuous. “So you would say you grew up in a good home?” I can’t remember all of them. He’s just good at letting people talk w/out responding back with judgement. He asks and the going on long spiels about their life. In a way he’s lucky they do that bc if not the channel would be boring.

It sounds great, but this type of lifestyle always ends up consuming these people. They will always chase the euphoria but eventually realise that it's just emptiness at the end of the day. There is nothing that can give a person meaning and contentment than a monogamous relationship. It's not just about sex.
