Feuerschwanz played a virtual release party for the last album last year, and they made a fun intermission with them playing this game where you roll into each other in rubber bubbles on a grass field, and overlayed that with some blackmetal "Schubsetanz". The fans were thrilled and very vocally demanded a full version of that. Well, and now they delivered. "Schubsetanz" is a word they made up and is supposed to mean that manly bumping into each other and pushing ("schubsen") the other guy away, and "Schubsetanz ist Rittersport" means that is the adequate sport for knights. This song in it's original version is one their big hits at concerts. But now that they've opeend the Pandora's Box of Black Metal, who knows where the road will take them :-D

Just a little hint on the pronunciation: the "eu" in Feuerschwanz is pronounced like the "oy" in boy or toy. The letter combination of "euer" sounds a bit like the "awyer" in lawyer =)

Schub-se-tanZ for the pronunciation. it's a blend off schubsen (to jog or push) and tanz (dance).

@@StanRaufzeil OK, cool, so the stress is on the last syllable 🤓. I did get the meaning of the word from Wiktionary and a fan translation of the lyrics. Didn't want to bother any of my friends who have a Master's Degree in (Translation and Interpretation of) German with such a minor question 😅.

Because it's fun. The fans wanted it as a meme. But they thought, why not going all in and make it a serious thing while still keeping the humor. Too many people taking metal way too serious all the time. If this isn't your thing, nobody force you to listen to it. But plenty of people like it the way it's made
