I think it depends on where you are in the Ph. You can actually dress up for some events like when you're in Metro Manila like in Quezon City (advisable to get Grab as they have fixed fares tho they may be overpriced) and not get charged by mass transpo drivers high because they think you're rich or moneyed/wealthy. It's also possible here in my city, Cagayan de Oro City (Mindanao island, down south~) because I don't really use the mass/public transpo that much when I'm out just nearby. Our city mass transpo drivers aren't that judgmental with people dressing up here either...they might be used to us city peeps here, especially the young ones doing that. Hehe. I mean...a lot of the young today dress up when they go to cafes here, milk tea houses/restos/cafes so we dress up a lot and all. Our fares are also very regulated here by our local gov't so far. Idk...I don't take the taxis much here, just when I really need to so there's that too. We don't have tricycles but we have motorelas and their fares are very/strictly regulated at 10 Php for like maybe a 100 meters per passenger. It's usually the habal-habal (motorcycles) that charge higher depending on the distance the passenger is traversing/travelling but we rarely ride that one here in the city since we have the e-trike (usually late at night) at night now too with regulated fares like the motorelas (day and some of the early evening). But I do hope people stop being like, just because we're dressed up, they'd think we're wealthy, we're not. They're just clothes and can be bought cheaper, secondhand and/or vintage as in like us who like to thrift our stuff. It's really not a good look for many to think like this or have a preconceived notion of people who dress up like this.
