People saying buy this, etc, it's not that easy in Japan as much as woodworking there is well known. There isn't a big Home Depot and lumber stores all over either lile in the US. Nevermind the lack of space means having a shed or any halfway decent land is not common in most cities.

@user-jl6kk6ni6k it's really not worth it, I'm learning carpentry and if you just buy the right equipment beforehand you'll save more money and time than doing a shitty version of what a router could potentially do, it's really simple as buying a portable router table for £150 that can do this and a whole lot more which would earn you more money than what you paid for the machine

So this is not accurate? It seems the edges of each blade are spaced to the intended diameter of the dowel. What's the relationship of the hole below? It would seem having it as a guide is what the purpose is, so it should be slightly larger than the dowel itself, no? When he measures the dowel at the end, it's very accurately cut, so why is this not an acceptable way to do this? It woukd seem that as long as you use a forstner bit as the basis for the dowel size and make sure the blades are tightened against that, that the results would be accurate.

Easy way: tilt the drill to one of the sawblade, this will adjust the center of rotation in perspective to the diameter and cutting surface resulting in a smaller diameter at the end. If you want a pencil point you can make a big pencil sharpener with a chisel or plane iron, even a kitchen knife could theoretically work if you get the angle right
