im going with the scientific term so i may be speaking bs. When emet says "for eons have i been measuring your worth and found you lacking" the important part being Eons an eon is billions of years. So she has seen for billions of years us be reborn and hoping to finally have one version of us worthy to end the final days

After everything that was done with hades telling us she was a primal which the man barely ever lied to us in shadowbringers adding on to the fact she became a primal eons ago I can safely say us being cautious is the correct course of action at that time but do I regret it well like everyone after this cutscene yes yes I do but like I said at that time before endwalker began any one of us had that right to be cautious given what we knew

I'm still salty she took Minfilia away and never gave her back.
@solitonmedic
@solitonmedic 2 жыл бұрын
Venat could had given her the choice to return, but I'm sure Minfilia's convictions is what made her remain as Hydaelyn's voice. It was of her own volition, and that's probably why Thancred was so spiteful of Ryne at first.
@jershumuyo2734
@jershumuyo2734 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think Venat could give her back. When Minfillia went into the lifestream her physical body was lost. Y'shtola for as much a meme as it is, has gotten lucky twice in being able to be pulled back out. When Minfilia left to the first her aether as it is would have rejoined the firsts aether pool if she had not learned via the Ascians how to jump bodies, and the only reason she likely could is because her aether was dense enough to do it assuming she jumped into bodies that had her fragment of a soul on the first. At least in Endwalker Hydaelyn did say she managed to pull Minfillias aether back to the source she loved so much. So eventually Minfillia will be reborn on the source. (whether her rejoining with her fragmented soul on the first will be enough for her to be able to recall who she was when she is reborn is another matter though I suppose.) Since lore wise it hasn't really been discussed the full implications that the WoL, Minfillia, and possibly Graha are the only 3 that have had their souls rejoined past the tipping point that they are closer to being ancients vs fragments of themselves.

@Nempo13
@Nempo13 Жыл бұрын
Gotta agree with Subasu in that you gotta be one of the rare few. Minfilia was USELESS. The Scions ran far better and more smoothly when she was gone. She had the echo, but was totally useless. Krile (and she admits this herself) cannot keep up with the other Scions in a fight. Yet even SHE steps up when the echo is needed due to primals. Minfilia couldn't fight at all, never learned, never asked (there are side quests you can pull info out of Thancred, he had offered to teach her MORE THAN ONCE). Shadowbringers fixed Minfilia with Ryne. Ryne is what we wanted Minfilia to be, someone with conviction who was willing to fight. Got into fights way above her capability, stood while shaking even at what she was facing, but refused to back down. THIS is what Minfilia should have been.

@jershumuyo2734
@jershumuyo2734 2 жыл бұрын
What about it confused you? What Venat did was the opposite side of the same coin the Acsians tossed. When she realized that the ancients would do anything including up to letting the entire star be destroyed for hope of the good old days returning she knew the only other options for life to continue, was either escaping the star or fighting Meteion. Ethically she was just as bad as the acsians because she made a heavy decision for the entire world without their say, but it was the only way to make sure life continued. So she sundered the star into shards and diminished every surviving ancients soul into a piece on each shard. At the end when she was taking blows, that was the metaphoric representation of one of the shards rejoining the source and the cataclysmic amount of lives lost when each rejoining happened. (at least that's how I took it).

[SPOILERS BELOW] Chain of events goes roughly like this. Skip below 3rd line for Venat's part. > Hermes bid Meteion run and soon, the calamity begins. > The Ascians, in their desperation, created/summoned Zodiark, to stop it, at the cost of sacrificing half of all the population. > The next plan is to then sacrifice most, or all, of the remaining second half to have Zodiark return their world to its days of glory. ----- > Venat, being the only one who remembers the cause for the calamity, tries to steer the Ascians away from this backward plan, knowing full well it would only delay the inevitable. > They refuse, the people could not accept losing so much of what they loved, the peace they cherished, could not see that it was flawed and created this outcome. > Venat, with no choice remaining to her, turned herself into a primal and sundered their world, splitting them into 'mirrors' of each other, its people broken apart into different reflections, shadows of themselves, our current existence is one of many. > She then proceeds to watch and endure, for millenia, the pain, suffering, death and despair brought about by her sundering, in the hopes that they will find an answer to Hermes's trial. > Part of it, is that three of her fellow Ascians survived, that being Emet, Elidibus and Lahabrea. They represent the remnants of that refusal to accept the death of all they cherished. > As a consequence of choosing not to tell anyone else of Hermes' actions as a calculated risk, though it is by their own choice, she watches her friends (the three unsundered) lose themselves to madness and time, slowly constructing mass-extinction events and untold torment as they attempt to fulfil the original plan. (reminder, despite being eternal beings, Ascians did not normally live very long, with some exceptions, it is part of their culture to die once they've done enough for the world) > At the end of this cutscene, she explains that when we went into the past, we altered the events, creating a new timeline, but it would 'merge' into our present. --- I know this comment is 10 months old, but I still felt like writing this, for luls.

I'm confused by that last scene. Did she slaughter all those people? And if she already knows that Meteion is the one causing this drama then why didn't she just collab with Zoriark and go all gangsta after her as Hydaelyn?

Because Zodiark was born of a single purpose.
@Cloudsanin
@Cloudsanin 4 ай бұрын
Zodiark was still and always was a primal the first primal designed for a purpose. To protect the planet from her song of demise. And the ones who made him wanted to sacrifice half of their already dwindling people after they stopped the final days. Zodiark never had a mind of its own and the ones who worshipped it wanted to live in a bubble of a utopia while the rest of existence burned. My theory is if zodiark ever left to go fight metieon it would have left the star unprotected and let an already dying star or a newly born fragment of a star to be completely consumed. It was that or let the ascians win and all the fragments would have been destroyed and consumed all of their aether to make zodiark create their little utopia they wanted so much. Killing pretty much billions of billions and leaving a few alive as shells of their former selves :(
@ElZouavo
@ElZouavo 3 ай бұрын
Think of it this way. Zodiark was created to shield Etheirys (The Source and the shards when they were still whole) from Meteion, and Venat was here to prevent anyone from tampering with Zodiark to allow him to destroy the world. When she sundered everything in that scene, she merely split all of existence into 14 different shards. These now make up the Source and its reflections. The people are still here, they're just... split. A fraction of what they were. So that they cannot ever get as close to messing with Zodiark ever again. Speaking of which, yes that includes Zodiark as well. If he's not whole, then he can't do anything that would endanger the world. And that explains why Emet-Selch tried to do his grand plan of re-joining the shards, so that he could finally have access to Zodiark once more and start anew. But god damn that last line of hers before she did the ultimate split will stay with me forever as my favorite quote. "No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise. Henceforth, he shall walk."
@SmugLilBugger
@SmugLilBugger Ай бұрын
The reason Venat did all of this is because she firmly believed that the people of Elpis were wrong in their reasons for living. She believed that life needs a balance of struggle and happiness, lest one becomes far more dominant than the other. We've seen what happens to worlds out of balance in The Dead Ends, where one world's people perished because lacking struggle and challenge, people became complacent, bored and tired of living when every day was the same. Venat prevented the rise of Zodiark because she wanted the people of Elpis to realize this as they go on living. That all the times they had this perfect Utopia, it wasn't normal - it was luxury, and they've enjoyed it for far too long. Venat opposes Meteion's theory. Meteion claimed that all worlds will succumb to despair and perish and Venat wants to prove that Meteion is wrong - that mankind on Etheirys has the strength and willpower to live with discord and harmony, not an abundance of either. At the same time, Venat isn't stupid and knows that people are prone to making mistakes, as we've seen with the rise of the empire. Knowing that she has no way of guaranteeing that Etheirys is ready to intercept and stop Meteion, she prepared her own version of the Doomsday protocol on the moon, ready to evacuate mankind because she loves her people in spite of her harsh treatment. That's the reason Hydaelyn doesn't work with Zodiark. They oppose each other in their fundamental ideals - Hydaelyn stands for growth and balance, Zodiark stands for complacency and ignorant bliss.
