@@PayneBlade Yep. Some numbers (at lvl10 upgraded) 3star fira: 275%, 4 star: 287%, 5 star: 300%. So yea well worth it since that multiplies against your full MATK, so a straight up +25% dmg from 3 to 5 stars on most of the basic materia we got now, and probably a bigger difference once we get some advanced materia later (perhaps Firaga/Ja/Flare/meteor/ultima)

From what I've seen they appear to be fixed and are based on the Materia's rarity. (If they aren't fixed, they have a very tight range.) Another thing to consider is that you get a sub stat bonus on every even level. If you have a slot that's locked the bonus is used to unlock the next sub stat but if all slots are open the bonus is used to boost a random sub stat. Starting with 4 slots open means higher over all sub stats when maxed. And yes, you can lock materia. There's a lock icon in the bottom right of the info panel.

Thunder, fire for story mode mostly required. Some of the physical versions of those help a lot too for physical units

Early challenging content priority is Thunder, Quake, Fire, Ice, in that order. Wind much later, Water not at all atm (like 1 boss weak to it, but he puts up a shield to block water and thunder works fine, so no need ). A good single target cura is also ofcourse very good, get 2-3 of em. The physical versions too (xxx blow) - youll get those recipes from the crisis dungeon

It depends on your fav team... I suggest focusing a lot of time on the 3 ruin blows... especially the triangle one ( saying you are running cloud with masamune) because of the third weapon ability (double effect for the seal if used in 3rd slot)

there is rarity 4 materia that you can get from dungeon exchange so ya its currently in the game

pretty powerful one too wich increases elemental dmg to enemies

someone on discord posted a 5 star regular materia, not even upgraded. He even said he didn't use any synth materia boosts! So yea, it's just RNG, prolly like a 0.01% or less chance without any synth items, adding items just boosts the chance. As a final test in beta, I used ALL of the materials i built up over the entire beta test, quite a lot, like 150+ on a synth, and it only turned out to be 3 stars.. So also yea: like the tooltip says, all it does is guarantee 2 star+, doesn't gurantee anything better matter how much u waste. So until someone datamines it to figure out the real rates boost, i wouldnt use up much, maybe a few mats per go, maybe more if u got some ot spare and want the guaranteed substats.

Stats matter more. They are both important but stats are "easier" to acquire than star lvl. I've yet to get one 5* with 2 accounts

Lots of factors such as weapons, stats stream, sub weapons and materia etc. Everything factors in but weapons isn't the only stats that matter

@colinwyw yeah agree. But we still can enjoyed both games. Ff7 is more grinding and depending where you at on SFD it's not that demanding. Like for myself I'm on 35-12, just slowly getting stronger to progress.

@@PayneBlade Yea just use free party, it's literally 50 crystals less u can grab later. You do otherwise get all the crystals from chests/all other rewards. I also got stuck here with a decently built up glen, but weak lucia/matt, so just blitzed it with my main ff7 party np. It is indeed the final mission available atm. Also grants a cool outro FMV preview of whats coming in the next update so check it out! It otherwise doesn't unlock anything important (20 slots to set up parties instead of 15 whoopie.. and ofcourse yet another FOMO pack only purchasable with red diamonds. Buy it or suffer the mega FOMO! it is a bigger pack than any other story unlock.
