Before we finish the challenge, there's some unfinished business we need to take care of. The Strahl skipped this battle because it kept glitching out on him, but there's a way around it. The problem occurs when you get to the Waterpolo phase. After a character gets trapped and you free them, they may be unable to act for the rest of the battle. Normally, you can avoid waterpolos by fighting the battle solo, but I think the game gets confused by there only being two party members available, so that doesn't work here. Reno had the same issue with the pyramids.
The solution is to skip that phase completely, which can only be done by dealing a lot of damage in one turn. Bottomswell has 2500 HP and this phase can be triggered before you deal 1000 damage. Thankfully, the level 3 limit breaks will take care of that.
