It was at this part in the game (never played the original), that I realized Cloud’s character is the theme of the game: cost. Nothing is without cost. Avalanche costs lives (even what an avalanche is). Magic in this world is an item that is used up; magic costs something. Shinra costs the planet. Nothing is forever, and always costs something. Aerith is the embodiment of “living now” and Cloud is the embodiment of “stuck in the past”. He’s haunted it, a cloud over everyone’s mood, except for Aerith is a glimpse of hope that there’s a tomorrow. She’s says the most important but probably overlooked line: “Gotta look forward, not back” and THIS is the game’s message. We can’t fix what’s happened, but we can save what is, we can live for the moment because it’s all we have. There’s a last time for everything. A final fantasy.

this moment and song gave me that raw "holy fuck, this game is really real" feeling.

I don't know what emotion this is called, but this song has perfectly distilled it... It's like a long walk home on a summer evening, peaceful and reflective.

My dog died shortly after this game was released. I played it to help cope with my grief. 3 years later, this song still reminds me of her.

When she says “you can see the sky,” I just moved the camera up and then sat there listening to this music. So so good.

This music really hit me hard to the point that the chaos of reality went away all of the sudden.

I´m from 1998 and i never played any FF game, i knew the saga but never played any of them. I picked this game in 2021 cuz it was for free on PS and when chapter 8 began and the music start playing... maaaaaan that was so beautiful! Seeing Aerith coming back to Cloud, those two being together, walking at the midnight with THIS song playing in the background and me playing at night. MAAAAN! I LOOOVE that moment.

Love-hate relationship with this song. I love how perfectly it fits this moment in the game and the budding romance between Aerith and Cloud. I hate how it makes me remember past failed loves of my own. Every man wishes for an Aerith. Very few of us deserve one. Even fewer actually find one.

This track in particular really hits me harder than any in the game for some reason. It has a very nostalgic, bittersweet and slightly melancholic feel to me. To me it reminds me of something that is pure, fun, and innocent but ultimately not meant to last, like childhood, or the magic of a first date as a teen on a warm summer night when everything is lighthearted and fun, and you're swept up into the emotions of young love, something that will eventually end as you grow older. Or the joy of playing the original game as a teen back in the day when things were simpler. It's also especially poignant within the context of the game, given the coming fate of Aerith later in the game; it's like a brief and temporary moment amid all the chaos where things are kind of okay for just a bit, something meant to be savored while you can.

A bittersweet melody that has me hearing words like, "This isn't goodbye! ...more like, I'll see you later... "

At the time of this comment, a miracle has occurred. The people of the internet came together, despite their differences, and gave only thumbs up to this video. Aerith and nostalgia have transcended KZfaq rage.

I was crying on the first disk when ( You guys know who died ) Man when the remake just came , she saw me and i just tell her , MOM ( FFVII ) IS COMMING THE REMAKE, She was so so happy. Odd. Never touched the OG FF7 so this was my first introduction to the series. Found myself laughing and enjoying every moment. Listening to each of the OSTs brings an indescribable feeling. Teary eyes and tightness in the chest. Definitely a memorable game that I have ever played. Can't wait for PT 2 to come out on PC.

this game makes me so nostalgic, and the music plays a big part in that. may i mention, as well, that FFVIIRI was my first final fantasy game, i knew nothing of the series beforehand, not one thing. and yet, even though my first foray into the series was back in July this year, it's just so damn nostalgia-instilling.

Its feels like it came from the early 2000s on Christmas vibes. It brings back a lot of memories and it feels nostalgic even tho this was made in 2020. They outdone themselves with this one

When this game just came out, i absolutely loved it , it hit me with nostalgia that would take me back to a time in my childhood were i could remember the way the sun came through the window...i remembered things related to that period of time and it made me happy....but through out my play through allot of the memories reminded me of my mum, from begging to get the game...being shouted at to turn it off late at night and times she would come into my room to call me down for dinner or that i asked here were north east south and west was when i got out of midgar to go to Kalm. Though through out this playthrough I had this heavy feeling in my heart for my mum it was weird it was like i felt something was going to happen. December of 2020/Jan 2021 my mum told us she had breast cancer (im not looking sympathy.) she died in August of 2021 from Covid said her immune system was too weak....what im getting at is. Its amazing how sometimes a game is more than a game....moments sounds and events capture moments in time in your mind and every time i play ff7 or some of the others it unlocks these blissful recollections of memories that are so vivid you can almost smell the cooking downstairs lol . I really appreciate the final fantasy series and for having experienced them as a child were characters inspired you taught you not to give up etc etc.....its just crazy how games, music or movies etc can have that impact on us.....though I'm glad it does.

I have to say, I've always regarded Uematsu as the greatest video game composer. I was also afraid they would ruin the music of ff7 in the remake. I don't know how Suzuki did it, but this song not only felt like it already existed in the original (I could have sworn I already knew it) but it made me extremely emotional. I can hardly wait to see and hear part 2!

Since the guy who composed this song did a lot of work on the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, this track has become my unofficial Zack & Serah romantic theme song based on the time they briefly met in World of Final Fantasy. The style and tone just _oozes_ XIII’s overall aesthetic, but the music comes from a remake of Final Fantasy VII.

Aerith surprising Cloud, the tear in his eyes when she walked away a bit, their small talks and this music that's just so magical are drowning me with different feels. Thank you so much for this extended version!♡♡♡

This part was my favourite part of the game for a few reasons. First of all right at the start when you have the options to buy flowers from Aerith & there’s a brief interchange between the two. It sets the viewer up even as a new player to think that there’s something between these two characters. Then as the player progresses & saves Aerith in the church and helps her navigate back to her home, you learn that Cloud actually cares about her more than he’s letting on. Then shortly before this scene when Cloud learns of Aeriths abilities & why she’s so important to Shinra. He knows that if they hang around together then they’ll always be hunted - he cares enough that he leaves in the middle of the night just to protect her from would be pursuers. Only to be confronted here by Aerith showing that she isn’t gonna let him walk out of her life just yet. Then the music hits, it’s nighttime, it’s dark, almost like anything is possible again. I hope Square realise what the fan base wants with this story.

And just like that, the remake soundtrack was instantly nostalgic

As a Cloti purist this whole section and music makes me feel exceptionally jealous over the fact that you never really get to share a moment loaded with this kind of emotion with Tifa in the game.

Favourite track in the game

I went through a really harsh moment in my life, played FF VII remake, hoping to feel joy with Uematsu's soundtrack. I had really good moments playing this game with my sons and then this tune hit me really hard. Not an Uematsu's production, but the calm, the softness etc... in this song, the moment in the game... I felt bitter and sweet, put the controller down for a moment, and just listenned to it. This is a fantastic piece of music

Thanks for the video. Favorite song in the game I think. Got into the series with 13, and moments like when this song first started playing are why I love it so much. Between FF16 and its DLC and now rebirth it’s been a great year and a half for final fantasy fans I am almost done with the remake part 1, should finish it just in time for rebirth. Plan to play the OG at some point but I still gotta play games like FF 6,8,9 and 12.

I remember walking the girl I had just started dating at the time to the train station in the January before this game released. It was pretty late and the streets were empty; the snow was lightly falling and she hooked her arm under mine while we walked. This theme and the vibe of this part of the game always reminded me of that night. Just one of life’s magical little moments. 🥲

My first FF game i´ve touched. Buyed it because i knowed that i would like it. After the first hours i realized this game is amazing. By playing and after that scene...i´ve realized that this is something REALLY REALLY SPECIAL. The develepors fueld this game with all their passion, you can feel it. One of my favourite games for sure ❤‍🔥
