A compilation of every Renzokuken sequence in Final Fantasy 8 plus two bonus Renzokuken sequences (not really) explained below.
In order of appearance in the video:
Set I - The Crisis-Level-based Renzokuken Sequences - the number of hits depends on Squall's Crisis Level.
-4 Hits
-5 Hits
-6 Hits
-7 Hits
-8 Hits
Set II - Unique Renzokuken Sequences on certain bosses
-X-ATM092 - 4 Hits
-Griever - 5 Hits
-Elvoret - 6 Hits
-Elnoyle - 6 Hits
-NORG - 6 Hits
-Bahamut - 6 Hits
-Tiamat - 6 Hits (This is one of the bonus Renzokuken Sequences. Squall can't perform this in normal gameplay, so I used aladore394's code and made him perform his Renzokuken sequence for Bahamut. Since Tiamat and Bahamut has the same model in-game, it worked flawlessly.)
-Adel - 6 Hits
-Jumbo Cactuar - 7 Hits
-Sorceress 3 - 7 Hits
-Ultima Weapon - 7 Hits
-Omega Weapon - 7 Hits (The second bonus Renzokuken Sequence. Again, using aladore394's code, I made Squall use his Renzokuken sequence for Ultima Weapon. Since Ultima and Omega has the same model in-game, it worked flawlessly.)
-Final Ultimecia - 7 Hits
-Ultimecia junctioned to Griever - 8 Hits

It's so cool that they added unique animations for boss characters. That kind of dedication to detail is hard to come by in games.

yet its always overshadowed by Cloud's lameass boring Omnislash. its literally the flashiest and the greatest Limit break in all of the final fantasy universe to date in term of presentation. and to finish it with Lionheart, making it even more unique... fuck ff7

That moment when in Final Fantasy VIII Squall could do 4 to 8 hits of Renzokuken + 17 hits of Lion Heart, and now in Dissidia and others he's only allowed to use the basic Renzokuken and the last strike of Lion Heart. Squall is so badass he has to hold back lest he overshadows their favorite boy Cloud.

World of Final Fantasy [sadly] botched Lion Heart even more... -_- He only does, like...3 hits and then the explosive dash through the enemy. SE really does _not_ want Squall to overshadow Cloud. Or, God forbid, Lightning.

I love that Squall gets unique Renzokuken animations depending on what he'll fight. When you pay attention to his movements, you can somewhat see how it also reflects his outlook toward whomever he's fighting. Like when he fights Adel to rescue Rinoa, he aims straight for her head and tries to maintain striking above Rinoa to prevent harming her. Ultimecia junctioned unto Griever. First thing he does? Stabs directly AT HER before slashing away.

oh my gosh! I've never seen Squall do all his strikes in slow motion but man all the strikes are brutal!...i usually pressing the R1 to not notice but.....Squall does a spin jump before attacking Bahamut/Tiamat attacks the head then lands on his wing to attack his wing, drags the gun blade through the wing to hit his face again, attacks his other wing and lands on it then jumps to stab bahamut in the head making the head go down the with enough momentum pushes himself up to the sky to do one final slash right in the middle...all that with blood added to it. Adel's is brutal too right to the face and you can see the motions he/she does when each strike hits. The NORG one is pretty sad and brutal...he just sit there just to be hacked and slashed...

@@cypheraine17 square enix has always been doing squall dirty... because they know if they are to release squall's full arsenal, it would totally obliterate cloud's omnislash whose ff7 is milked so hard even till now. all the other iteration of Lionheart in ff universe games have been reduced to just a single massive blow, instead of its original gunblade flurry of attacks. i hate it

@@cypheraine17 OMG, I was SO disappointed when I saw they got rid of it and just made him use Ultima now. Squall's my main and my friends hated me for it lol 😄 But then SQ nerfed him in NT. 😢

Damn! Dude struck with his back turned. That was EPIC! I have never seen some of these before - but that's probably because I have never played the PC version. Still, I honestly think Squall is seriously underrated. He is my favorite Final Fantasy character!

***** Of course... Sex is always the reason. Whatever...-_- But yeah, I find Squall to be very relatable. He's a teenager whom experiences the kind of things all, or at least most, teens do in their life. That's one reason why I love VIII so much; relatable characters and experiences makes a story everyone can get indulged in. VIII gets a lot of hate, Squall too - but it's one of the best games, in my opinion, and my favorite FF installment!

***** I do agree they should have explained junctioning better and more often. A lot of people were confused by it, which is the source of most complaints towards it. I myself didn't fully grasp it until my second playthrough. I do wish they would create a more tweaked version or so. Even I acknowledge that it has flaws, but I just hate that the flaws are ALL most seem to recognize. I did like VII's materia system and the characters were good _(though I preferred some over others)_. It just sort of confused me after a while - and yeah, the fan-boys don't make it any better. Not to mention, I'm just SO sick of SE milking that storyline. No other games get any attention, except maybe XIII, because of such. But even then, it's almost as if Lightning and Cloud are all there is to FF anymore. They're the only two characters used in advertisements these days - or at least used the most. Some people will look at characters like Zidane, Bartz, and WoL and not have the slightest idea of who they are. But I digress... I didn't mean to start ranting.

I don't mind that the plot is a bit silly and the character customisation is a little wonkily balanced; it's the attention to detail on the world and characters that makes FF8 great. Every character has brilliant distinctive body language both in battle and out and the game is full of instances of the dev team going the extra mile like this.

There's no difference between Tiamat and Bahamut's, Omega and Ultima's. But in normal gameplay (without using a cheat code) you can't use the special Renzokuken sequence for Bahamut, against Tiamat, and the one for Ultima against Omega. Squall does a regular Renzokuken against Tiamat and Omega, that's why I added them as a "bonus" using a cheat code.

Yep, except for Dragon Fang which you can't get from card modding. You need to fight high level Blue Dragons in the forest that leads to Galbadia Garden after the Timber Mission and after the second Laguna sequence.

Nope. You can only get a Dino Bone or a Star Fragment from T-Rexaurs regardless of location and level. Star Fragment is its rare drop. The earliest you can get a Dragon Fang is from Blue Dragons in the forest leading to Galbadia Garden. They are very rare though.

The dumb thing was we were too busy concentrating on the trigger bar to notice what Sqaull was doing. I've probably triggered all of these but I've never actually seen them before.

You can also get Dragon Fangs from T-Rexaurs, found in the forest right outside Balamb Garden.

I think it's because Squalls model becomes one with the Cactuar model and since the Cactuar model is in like 2-3FPS he also moves at that FPS.

Nope! You just have to transform your cards into the objects needed to have Lionheart. You win the cards, transform them and go to the weapon shop.

About 4 hrs. It was b/c of Jumbo Cactuar, Norg, Adel, Griever, and Ultimecia's final form that took me awhile to master without the trigger guide.

What's the difference between the ones on Tiamat and Bahamut and Omega and Ultima Weapon? The camera angles? They look the same otherwise. Also, Elnoyle and Elvoret also seem identical.

Maybe you already know now but they edited the game to use the same animations they use with Ultima. Because Ultima and Omega have the same model it works perfectly, but yeah in-game Omega (and Tiamat) use the standard renzokuken anims.

I'll just copy my reply to the other guy. lol. "There's a code that replaces the animation of an attack/spell into your desired animation. So for example, you can replace the animation of the Fire spell into something like, the Meltdown spell. So in this case, I just replaced the normal Renzokuken animation to that of the Renzokuken against Ultima."

Yeah, that was only supposed to happen against Ultima. I just used a game shark code to be able to use it against Omega.

It's simple really. 20x Elnoyle Card -> Card mod -> 2x Energy Crystal -> Ammo RF -> 20 Pulse Ammo (12 required) 4x Dragon Fang - defeat low level Grendels in the forest from the 2nd dream sequence. Hug the left cliff to encounter them. Minotaur Card -> Card mod -> 10x Adamantine (1 required) ta-dah! I do this every game. If you want to play some more cards, continue till 6 Energy Crystals to save 4 of them for Quistis' Ultimate weapon. You can get all ultimate weapons except Irvine's on disc 1 - that one needs a moon stone and you can't get those before the Lunar Cry.
