I think it's important to *enjoy* the game while playing it. It's pretty easy to just fall into the assumption that grinding has to be dull, but just look at how many options there are! You don't have to do the MSQ Roulette every day.

Wait, we're not mentioning the +30% EXP boost ring you can get from The Smith? Seriously, It's absolutely great starting out at the process of leveling everything, to get you out of the basics as quickly as possible.

Regarding side quests. What I used to do on DPS (tank/healer usually doesn't have too much time to wait) was to queue up for stuff and do side quests and fates while I waited. It seems like some people forget or don't think about it and will just stand around waiting for a queue to pop, getting zero xp and being bored.

I just wanted to start level other jobs, and your guide is really useful as usual. Keep up the good work

beast tribe are the BEST time to xp ratio you can possibly do, DO YOUR PIXIES EVERY DAY if you have a char from 70-80, and arkasodara if 80-89. It's 5 min a day for a HUGE piece of one level.

I'm currently grinding all of the classes to level 50 before completing ARR and I definitely agree that completing multiple things while grinding the class levels helps make the grind more bearable.

About challenge logs: very important to try and complete the chocobo log because it gives MASSIVE Exp to the companion. I'm currently leveling my chocobo while doing weekly FATEs and/or leveling my Blue Mage (which I find relaxing, but yea there's always the "get a friend to boost you" method)

Everyone talks about the most efficient routes but I'm glad that you took a more human approach to the topic

I just did Duty Roulette (all of it, PVP included) every day. Frontline and Main Story quest will give you at least 1 level per run

When you mentioned side quests, I have an extra tip, I save side quests for queueing for a dungeon as a dps, not only the difficulty of that content is better as a dps because you will melt mobs, dps queues compared to tanks and healers are way higher specially if you are playing outside of peak hours, while the xp isn't great some NORMAL side quests unlock extra content(like some side quests are required to unlock certain Special Deliveries), and there are two normal side quests in Western La Noscea(Like Cats and Dogs which then leads to Curiosity Killed the Coeurl and Man's Best Fiend) that give you minions, so despite not being great xp some of them are worth doing.

A comment for PvP: Frontline gives you just about half of a level of experience (if you win) similar to turning in a Wondrous Tails book, or about a fourth of a level if you don't win. You DEFINITELY should do it, as it is at most 20 minutes for at most half of a level. This is what is getting me though the slog of level 80s.

I'm a defender of doing 3 days worth of Guildhests a week. They go by incredibly fast (Bockman, which comes up the most often, takes under a minute), and there's a Challenge Log entry at 3 complete that gives EXP comparable to a dungeon boss kill. I usually do the first two days on a non-max level job in whatever role's adventurer in need just to get through the queue faster (and get like 20 extra exp, thanks, game) and then the third day on whatever job I'm focusing on leveling.

I'm still in the MSQ, just finished Stormblood and am well on my way towards ShB. I already have one class at level 80+ simply from doing MSQ and job quests on a recommended world. I started leveling a crafter with levequests whenever I have around 70 or so allowances, that crafter is getting close to level 50 just from that. There's one levequest in Horizon that requires turning in 3 potions that's right next to the levemete. Other than that, I chose a second job for the remaining daily content, but it's limited to just tribal quests so far as there's still too much to do to in the MSQ. Once my first job is at 90, I will collect MSQ rewards with my alt job.

hunt log is somewhat tedious, but as you proceed along the game you'll run into some hunt log monsters through the route on MSQ. Otherwise, if you've already finished ARR and have flying enabled, you can fly to where a monster is, change to the job and grab the EXP. I was able to level NIN, WAR, SMN, and PLD to 50 really quickly with roulettes and hunt log.

Silly little tip, in Aussie servers you get the preferred world exp bonus on everything before level 80 on any character and you’ll get a 300% bonus on any secondary classes on a character (basically any class that’s not your highest one)

I've been sleeping on a few of this, especially hunting log, since it takes time to search for them, and it's funny just yesterday was thinking of spending more time with the GC comand missions to work on getting Storm Captain ( in my case), and also Wonderous Tails.

Guildhests can be kinda helpful due to the challenge log giving out a decent chunk of XP for completing 3 of them, and another chunk for 10 of them. Personally, 3 a week is enough for me unless I've been getting instant queues, then I might try and go for more. Also, they're pretty good for commendations due to how short they are. You can usually do a few of these in the time it takes to do any other content, so you get commendations at a higher rate, and if you get 3,000 commendations you get the Parade Chocobo mount.

I've had multiple tell me to save sidequests for other characters but the amount of xp you get from sides is just so miniscule compared to anything else that I did it on my main anyway. Sides do give good Gil though

When you level culinary keep all the food you make to eat while leveling alts :) I also recomend completing hunt logs, you get some gil as well as xp. There are sites that will give you makes to make them easier to find. I did those and side quests while waiting for daily rouletes on longer dps queues. Another tip is level your chocobo. It being able to heal or tank for you can be huge on some roles. If you can afford it but the items or grow them in your fc's estate to level them up to 20. You can also do battle Leave quests up to level 60 which give decent xp as well as getting some cool items / things that sell well, and Amber for the 50-60 ones some times which you'll need for HW relics. But you can do so many per day as well, if you aren't using them for crafting, please use them leveling low level.

There are ones that you didn’t cover -Armoury bonus: having another job higher than the one you are leveling +100% (+50 if above 80) -Armor/Accesories bonus: they give extra exp if below certain levels •Brand New Ring (Hall of the Novice) gives +30% up to level 31 •Friendship Circlet (Recruit-A-Friend) +20% up to level 26 •Menphina Earring (Preorder Endwalker) even though it says +30% it actually gives +50% up to level 81 And since 7.0 is around the corner they’ll most likely add a replacement for menphina ring if you preorder All exp buffs are additive which means you could be rocking a 200~250% bonus for dungeons

Having leveled every job to 90, here are my takeaways: - 70+ : You can usually participate in EW fates and get full rewards, even from level 70. You'll want someone else do them for you, but the XP reward is solid (and you need to farm the shared fates / bicolor gems for rewards). Easier as a healer and help others or as a tank since you will not die as easily. Do this when you have flying in the area with high level friends or join a farming group in any EW zone. - 80+ : The tribal quests from Thavnair will give you 3.3m XP per day with max reputation (a bit less at first). It's half a level at first per day, a quarter at the end. It is huge and you basically don't have to know how to play the class well, some days, you won't even fight anything. Save this for any job you enjoy less, some might say it's easier as a healer to solo those than do the hunting bills, or fighting jobs you don't quite get well (some might do this on BLM). - 80+ : The daily hunt bills total 3m XP per day. It is a huge bonus too and should be done if you're playing a job you're comfortable with. You should be able to solo all the monsters for the daily hunts even from level 80 with the right rotations / stuns / tome gear. Worst case, get a friend to help you in the early levels. Combining the 2 above, you can get about 6m XP per day, which is a level every day for a while, and then every other day, doing light activities (which you could do while queuing for roulettes on other jobs). If your goal is to level up many (or all) the jobs to 90, I would recommend to not do roulettes or turn the Khloe book on jobs that are 80+ (unless all jobs are there, obviously) since the tribal quest and hunt bills give you so much XP per day and use those on lower level jobs, I personally find the 60 to 80 range to be the worst since you will have to be very active (HoH, Bozja, roulettes) to level up. The hunt bills and tribal quests will not give you a great amount of XP and should have probably a lower priority in your daily task list (but you may as well do them as you get rewards out of them).

As an omnicrafter I can offer 1 tip and 1 bit of my personal experience. The tip is if you just want the exp buff from food and don't care about the stats if you have any decent botanist levels, I think starting at level 15 or so, you can harvest crops that you can just eat on their own. They offer no bonuses but always provide some botanist exp, and if you want the exp but not to grind botanist the culinarians guild sells aldagoat milk for 4 gil each which gives the same bonus. The piece of experience is if you are a crafter a lot of mats that you'll want a lot of that are mop drops, especially starting in Heavensward where you need 3 skins per leather instead of just 1. I have made it a habit to always grind classes that need it on these since while it is slower than steamrolling them with your main class it saves you grinding in the long run. Just my experience though since I do partial solo where I don't buy mats from vendors or the market board whenever possible, if you do buy those then still consider it and save yourself some gil at the same time. My main fieldcraft 3 farm uses a lot of fleece for wool which is only helped by the fact the bulk of my levelling classes are in the range for Ornery Karuls anyways

I literally just started playing the game this week so the timing of this video was pretty good. The dungeons that you mentioned especially for the start does the msq take you to those dungeons or do you have to search them out on your own? I've only been doing the msq, job quests and hunting log so far.

I levelled all my classes to max easily but wish I put more thought into it as I mainly just did DR, PvP and spamming duty support max lvl dungeons to level up them all one by one...using food xp buff and the squadron xp buff scroll for 15%

It took me over 1 year and 3 months to get all of my combat jobs to lvl 90 and I will say that grinding the highest lvl dungeon you can or Deep Dungeon never struck me as GOOD ways of leveling because they are excruciating in how mind-numbingly boring they become after you do them for the 800th time. I did a mix of Beast Tribes, roulettes, job quests, fates and Wonderous Tails. It was tedious and it made me hate a lot of jobs that I didn't like *coughblmcoughdrgcough* but I've been done for the past 2 months and a half. And I don't need to worry which roulette to enter. Do I pick Tomestones or exp for my reward?

Have to disagree on guildhests, mostly because the challenge log entry for them is really good. If you spend like 5 minutes running bockman over and over that's like a 10th of a level. I would agree it's not super interesting/doubling up with other things you'd do anyway, but it's an easy brainless break and a nice efficient boost if things are feeling slog-y. Plus the first time you complete a given hest on each job you get a cute little bonus. Most useful early on but not to sniff at later (especially when you have only a little bit to the next level, it's a much faster boost than fates/sidequests. Also! If you want to do them, doing dungeons at-level is also very efficient for XP, and you can get sweet glams (and loot for levelling purposes too).

been playing for a long time. With the EXP bonuses you can get in game i found it easier to level Arcanist first using the MSQ(main story quests). Splitting the arcanist to Summoner and scholar (they level under arcanist so which ever you choose to play the most the other will get exp) Then when possible level a DPS job using the side quests. ( i don't have the temperament to be a tank). Fates are helpful, Beast tribes as well, when you get higher there are other things to add to help in leveling. All in all it's relatively easy to solo play now that you can engage and party of NPC's to do dungeons.

For me, leveling to 50 is easy with leveling roulette; then from 50 onwards, do Main Scenario, Alliance Raid, and Leveling roulette every day. At 70, also do Pixie beast quests, and at 80 do the Arkasadora. 60 to 70 takes quite a while, but the rest go rather quickly.

I am so glad they changed up the msq roulette. My bro and i would say "should we queue a boring?" I mean they're still boring now just not as long thankfully. Alliance roulettes are definitely fantastic XP and on occasion you do get lucky and get something other than CT 🤣 I had totally forgotten about wonderous tails. I should start doing that as well as my daily roulette when leveling

I have my level 1-10 goggles exp boost, Also do the Hunting For the super exp boost to level 15, Go for the ring Exp boost quest and get the ring that gives you exp boost to level 30, The earring exp boost from level 1-80 and within a few hours you can go from level 1 to 60 along with the food that gives you that 3% exp boost…

Here is my *DPS* Leveling-loop. Requirements: Somewhat high crafter (omni is best to do this). Somewhat high gatherer (again best if Min and Bot at 90). make your self a list of gear-sets that are craftable, equipable at the level ranges x0-x3, x4-x6, x7-x9 (meaning for example 50-53, 54-56, 57-59) with the lowest "equipable" level for each range. sign up for the 5 highest *leveling* dungeons that are available. whilste waiting for your que to pop, gather and craft for the next gear-set you could use. usually the highest dungeon is the best, but using the 5 highest is still enough xp per dungeon and also lowers the wait time by quite a bit so i would say it's worth it, there is a spreadsheet out there that shows the xp per dungeon if you want to check on that fact (can't link it or this comment will probably flagged as spam). it's important to only sign up for leveling dungeons as the 50/60/70/80 don't really give xp, there's also a list for that out there but once again can't link it. for the list of gearsets i recommend using teamcraft, helps a lot to keep an eye on what mats you need to gather as well as what step comes next. don't forget to sell the old gear every now and then to go easy on your inventory space. i'm 100% sure that this isn't the most effective way to level, but for me personally it's the most enjoyable "loop". also if you're leveling healer or tank i recommend actually just signing up for the highest dungeon *or* again sign up for the 5 highest and just forget about crafting. (also: don't craft gear marked with stars, just not worth it).

i find deep dungeon is a fast way to level, i have no patience for the challenge or hunt logs sometimes. And I found that most free companies aren't worth joining, nothing against them or anything but I'm kind of a introvert and shy so the best i'll do is party finder. Fates are pretty fine for feeder EXP (Feeder exp acts as a tide-over for more EXP later) and guildhests are pretty nice too. Your video is pretty good my dude.

A tip for higher level fate fsrming. always kill the forlorn maiden if it appears as it boosts the xp from the next fate.

One small point in favor of side quests is that if they offer gear rewards, there’s nothing saying you can’t just toss that item up on MB.

It's now a pretty long time since I did the crystal tower alliance raids. Probably I'm lucky, but I feel I've those less often now. The last 2 weeks I mostly did Alliance raids of level 70-80-90, and once a level 60, but no 50 at all. Or maybe there just are less new players now in my world.

For fates id recommend looki h at progress percentage becUse that means you have some backup compatrd to 0%

There's another honorable mention you forgot, Exploring *each* Expansion Zone will give you some experience too!

I want to get as much out of the free account as I can before I can upgrade. I have been having a challenge with bag and armory space. It seems like the most efficient way for a free player to level alt jobs is to level them all at the same time, that way we can sell old gear once all classes have reached a certain level. It also helps us know which farmed mats we should keep or sell. If we have all of our jobs at the same level, then we should be getting loot as we need it.

Playing on a "preferred" server gives a buff called "Road to 80" that double every exp bonus. Let say you have +200% exp, your bonus will be +400% exp !

You forgot to mention near the start along with the road to 80 buff but mentor exp buff, playing with a mentor as a sprout/returner nets you another 100% exp increase.

How does resting exp work, do I just get a boost if a que in a main city?

After everything from daily/weekly list is exhausted the biggest exp gains per time are from completing dungeons closest to your level. Everything else is subpar to that.

The truth is, in all these years, I neglected most of the zone yellow side quests. So I should go back and do them on new side jobs from level 1. And I got to enjoy the Bozjan front while leveling rdm for the first time before EW came out.

My only question during that was if the bonuses stacked or were cumulative. Say I get a 30% bonus from the menphina earrings, and then I get a 3% food bonus, maybe a 5% rested EXP bonus, and a 10% FC combat bonus. Will that all combine into a 148% bonus when getting EXP from combat, or is it a rolling amount that doesn't lump together. I've had some debates with friends on this and it's always been pretty ambiguous to me.

No mention of Leves? From what I remember they were quite good in early levels!

I really suggest not worrying about preferred world or not. On Crystal, we don't even have a preferred world right now. Not only that, but even if you get boosted xp, you likely started on another server. So you'd have to transfer and then transfer back and hope your old server doesn't get congested. And if you start a new character it doesn't matter. Because you will still have to run through the entire MSQ to even get to anything meaningful. Honestly with how they made it and if you have money, you are better off just buying everything to 80 and get a ton of gil in the process. In the long run you are saving time and honestly money.

Well, I already have everything at level 90, so I don't have to worry about it. That being said, I don't mind the mundane tasks, since I usually have a video up at the same time as I level.

Frontlines is the best XP/min roulette that you can do so I highly suggest always doing that. Trial roulettes are not worth doing unless you get an ARR trial.

So here i'm that new player trying the xp boosted server. Played maybe 10 hours and allready lvl 38. But my main quest still around lvl 18. I even have done a lvl 25 quest for my ckass. Main thing was that nothing attacked me because i was to high of a lvl compared to my quest. So started a new character on a normal server. Now everything is on point Main quest on my lvl Some class quest have to lvl up before i could get a new quest. So bavk to main again. So XP buffs and fast leveling completly destroys the fun the way ff14 was made. So enjoy without it. You learn youre character Fight youre way trough the game instead of walk in the park mode. But most of all have fun.

I will say, I think you devalued how good the Hunting Log simply is for the jobs that can do it. On a Lv 1 Char I typically just do the Log exclusively for the first 30 levels or so. You level up almost exactly as you complete each log. And the 1-20 Logs are generally all in your Class starting area with minimal effort to find them. Above 20 I typically hunt for them while waiting in Roulette queues (for DPS queues). The Exp does fall off a bit more, but it gives something to do with a decent Exp chunk rewards while in Queue. Still more rewarding than FATEs are at those levels.

My advice: dont care bout leveling, you will get it after few mth by just doing daily, ff14 had shytty level system, they should let new player testout at 70 80, i only end up playing few class. The grind make you exaust after few weeks.

It's kind of crazy how much of this I disagree with, but also can't call straight out wrong. Remember folks. If your miserable and dragging butt between fates your actively hurting your exp curve, when you could have done a roulette or some beast tribes or something for rewards while waiting in q. Also. Hunting logs are definitely worth the exp. But only in the first 4 ish levels of each group. The issue there being. It doesn't scale and you have to be caught up to do current level ones. So it's a pain. But every three levels or so I highly recommend throwing yourself at the strong ones like a rabid dog. Worst case you get a free teleport home. Best case you get a half a level for 5 minutes worth of work.

21:45 Side Quests No No No. You're doing it wrong. You can turn in side quests as any job and it doesn't have to be the one you started. Even jobs that aren't in the game yet. So you do the quests now, but don't turn them in. Wait for the next expansion. Unlock the new job, AND THEN turn in all those finished quests. BOOM a head start on exp on the new job.

It really doesn't matter how fast you level because MSQ will slow you down . But If you want to speed level just buy a skip but you will be missing out on an awesome storyline xp one of the best storylines I have never played

I will farm command missions when they make them not fucking awful lol. Im the highest rank in my gc and i never want to touch them again. So painfully slow, even compared to duty support. Regardless of your role.
