If you’re making a female Au Ra… then I honestly feel sorry for you… …sorry because you have SO MANY good voices to choose from! Somebody at SE CLEARLY has a thing for reptiles. (RIP rabbits) Here’s what I think about some of them: -Voice 1 is pretty good. Very Japanese-sounding. -I think a lot of otakus fantasize about having an ultra-cute little sister… with voice 2. -3 and 5 are both pretty damn solid, too. -You find a live cockroach in your shoe. #Voice6 (05:30) -Voice 9… Hmm… FFXIV is rated T for… blood, language, partial nudity, and… there it is: SEXUAL THEMES! Keep your ERP in /tell, please! -Voice 10 is… veeery very good. Very realistic female voice. Nothing too fancy; just believable af. -12 isn’t bad! …but you only get 3 unique voice clips! Wtf! If I played a female Au Ra, I’d struggle VERY, VERY hard to really choose between 3 and 10. I think I’m SLIGHTLY leaning more towards 10, but this is the sort of thing that I would spend way too much time deciding, so… I’m glad I don’t have to make this choice. Lol Lot of very solid choices for the lizard ladies. Good job, SE! What about you guys? Did you struggle picking your favorite like I did? Or is there one that’s just miles above the rest for you?

makes me so sad when you find a voice you like in character creation but then they have a really obnoxious combat yell :(

This is fantastic. Thanks so much for making something like this. I love that you have them all in here for people to hear. It saves so much time compared to searching for each individually, and you don't have to worry about the varying sound quality between those videos. Audio was good in quality and not being too soft. I see that you have done this for other races as well. You're awesome! Thanks again. I'll be on the lookout for if you do any videos that include some emotes between them as well.

Thank you for this. Despite the low number of battle voices in this video, I went with 12. I’m not sure if more were added, but I’ve counted at least five. One of the “hmpfs” has two pitches, and there is a distinct “hya!” That is missing. Great vid and I will definitely link this to aspiring lady Auri

Thanks for the voice clips, it's great being able to check the battle noises before making a character! I made my Au Ra with voice 5 ages ago and never even noticed her fight sounds. Fortunately, I still like them! (And would you believe it? Your Au Ra #5 looks like mine too, all the way down to horn shape and skin/scale/hair/eye color! What a wild coincidence.)

Subbed, cause you’re my xiv voice person now. These have helped me find voices for three characters so far. I don’t get why the example clips don’t include battle sounds when that’s basically all you’re gonna hear if you don’t make regular use of emotes.

The combat voice on voice 1 is unmatched in how fierce it sounds, I love it

I used voice 4 on my Au Ra and she's so adorable! She was originally a miqo'te before HW came out and she really grew on me from then on.

Thanks for this! You saved me from using voice 9. I thought it'd sound a bit less err, suggestive in battle. I wanted a sort of sultry voice for my character. But not something quite like that. Thinking I may go with voice 5 but don't know.

I don't see enough love for Voice 4, which is imo a perfect voice. 🤍 I love the mischievous "heeheehee" giggle, the adorable "wheyheyHEYY," and "WOOHOOHOO," the realistic yet expressive tone without being over-the-top squeaky and shrill. The combat noises are also quiet and non-distracting. Overall a 10/10 voice, I can't wait to start my FFXIV adventure with my new Au Ra! 😊

I originally went with Voice 3 for my Au Ra after choosing blindly but after developing her character more, it was starting to gripe me to the point of lowering/muting the voice volume. I then decided months later to use my free Fantasia to switch to Voice 10, it's still not the perfect match for her but I'm glad it's not as distracting. Thank you for this guide!

Thanks so much for making these vids! I literally fantasia-ed to change my au ra's voice. She was making this annoying "aahh" that rose and fell in pitch whenever i played dancer and i couldn't stand it. Went with voice 10 :)

Voice 10 has a unique and really adorable "Fume" emote sound, usually surprising people as they not expect the cuteness. Also one of the best /laugh emote voices, always cheers me up. The muted/subtle combat sounds are not noticeable at all while in the middle of combat, which is also a plus for me. All in all a great voice!

Damn, thanks for this! I just got my first character to 50, and I would have SWORN combat shouts were universal to the whole Au Ra race. Turns out that's because I picked Voice 5. I love everything about it, but that one high-pitched battle cry sounds like it's from an entirely different voice actor (a bit disconcerting with the normally deeper quality). I just assumed Au Ra had high combat voices by default. Cheers! I'm really happy I can switch to something that better fits my character! And fair warning to those fellow dragon dragoons out there: you're going to be hearing that battle cry on virtually every combo. Choose with care.

I came here to figure out which voice I picked, which turned out to be voice 5! She has a super cute laugh.

I picked voice 3 and I am so in love with it. It fits my character so well, and like everything else about her, it means more to me than I could say.

I choose voice 8 and didn't regret it, I like it suits my character appearance and characteristics.

Just 2 days ago i created my Aura female alt i took so much time with listening to all these voices very carefully and so I've made the decision on no 10 there's something special it idk why. Also i can't get down on my knees when petting my lala friends maybe due to making her bit smaller but i still like her tbh don't know should i use Fantasia to make her bit taller or naaah? Are most ffxiv players still demanding for butt slider do you think it'll happen?

I got the free trial and was kinda bummed that I can't share progress with other characters, so was planning on dumping my current Fem Au Ra chara and go for a Miqote instead. Then I saw this video, and decided: Maybe I'll stick with my tomboyish Au Ra (short hair, voice 5. adorably tomboy) for now, see if I can make her into a cool Samurai before I inevitably sell my soul (and free time) to purchase a subscription. Here today because I still need to rely on your videos even after the new FFXIV Dawntrail benchmark added a battle voice section to the voice samples in character creator, because there's only one (!) single sound clip in repeat and that's neither helpful nor does it make any sense ? I mean, even just one incredibly weird voice clip that sounds kinda off and not in the least bit fitting compared to the other five or so would prevent me from choosing that particular voice no matter if everything else seems perfect. So I'd need to hear them all.
