I just finished the story and holy shit. This expansion was amazing.

Stopped playing through Stormblood due to time commitments. Always wondered what it would take to pull me back into the game... Rest assured, it's the music. It's ALWAYS the music!

I really love when games use those leitmotifs of main themes in their final bosses themes as in the minute 6:12. It's so good. Some other games that do the same with their final bosses are the Sonic series (some of them as Unleashed or Colors, not all), Bravely Default, Tales of Xillia 2, Undertale, and surely a lot more of games that I don't remember rn and haven't played probably.

I love that final part (after the Active Time Maneuver). I was playing WHM for my first clear and that last part just felt like the culmination of everything we had been put through. The music swelled, the darkness was creeping in, and someone in the chat just typed "BURN EVERY CD YOU HAVE!" and I swear I've never played more efficiently than in those final seconds. A+ work Square Enix.

Every day my roulettes don't draw the Twinning or the Dying Gasp is a sad day.

I like how the second phase sounds like the constant back and forth between Light and Dark that's happening in game

Just finished MSQ like 5 or so days ago. And BY THE TWELVE this is amazing. The story is great, the actions are great, the fights are great and the music is FIRE.

As the party i was in was about to finish the fight i managed to shout 'THE LIGHT CASTS YOU OUT' felt good

The music is 50% of the reason I play this game and I usually mute the music in all mmos I play. They absolutely blew me away with Shadowbringers soundtrack.

Hades from Final Fantasy IX

What's the name of the phase 1 theme? I'm trying to find it and can't.

Heavens, the fight may be one of the easier final bosses of this game (as others said, I couldn't yet, understandably enough), but I bet the sheer catharsis of finally, *finally* being able to take down Solus/Emet Selch/Hades after the entire game of him wreaking havoc from the background (and backstory) is gonna sweeten the deal so much...

So I finished it today. I creamed my pants during this fight. It is just perfect... I have not felt such awesomeness since Nidhogg. Well, since Innocence who was just glorious but it is Shadowbringers too, so eh. Best expansion, topping even Heavensward. They really bounced from the disappointment that was Stormblood (except for Azim Steppe, the whole zone and its story was the best thing in SB)

Knights of the round > Ultima > this = shinryu in terms of final release bosses for me, but i liked them all overall, knights was just really epic in all aspects, heavensward story in general was also, imo the best so far.

So wait, was this guy Solus? I'm not this far yet. If it's Solus, his name was Hades instead of Emet-Selch? But... but Solus had the upside-down Zalera emblem so he should be Emet-Selch. I can't stand these surprise inconsistencies! Nice to see some more FFIX references though with a Hades boss, I like how his staff looks a lot like Necron, Necron would totally be a Zodiark adherent. I was worried nearly this entire game was going to be a long string of FFIII references.

First phase music seems really cheesy to me and doesn't really look that intimidating but the second phase both looks and sounds really awesome.
