Curtain call has to be my favorite healing moment in the game. It requires consistent damage output for enrage, while simultaneously taking a fair few cds to make it through. You need to dodge pizzas and remember your own tether too. Won't lie, I've gotten so caught up in keeping the heals going that I forgot to pop a few times. THIS is what healing should feel like. The only fight I've liked phase 2 better than phase 1 in Endwalker. They've been nailing the door bosses, but phase 2 puzzle bosses aren't it imo

The two middle fights were really incredible. But people are always just gonna remember the first and last, the first was the easiest first turn since O1S and the last was probably the least memorable final turn they ever made.

probably because of how bottleneck P3s was 😂. Tho its not the hardest fight, but man i hate that arena so bad. For someone with bad eyesight it hurts the eyes the longer i play on it, literally spicy to look at.

I think E4S still has it as my favorite fight of all time. It's an extremely fun but very long encounter so you really feel the "don't choke" ending part of the fight with phase 3 and the music change to the Titan hype music from UWU is spectacular. The growing desperation to kill the boss and not die after such a long fight was an incredible feeling and no savage fight has captured that for me since.

I agree with you, Savage raids in EW have been kinda weak in the fun and creativity factor. E4S, STILL a *SSS* Fight hands down. Best savage fight ever created, not even close.

I've gotta hard disagree with P4 being on the top. The door boss straight up felt incomplete. There wasn't even a Pinax 2 that escalated the fight. It was just Pinax...then Pinax again. Not to mention with how quickly you could speed kill that door boss Pinax 2 got largely if not entirely skipped by the end of the tier. The theming of part 2 was fantastic, the whole Akanthai/stageplay aspect provided some of the best justification for the wild dance of mechanics we were going through, but ultimately none of the individual mechanics in part 2 were really super memorable. I also think you criminally underrated P2, especially for how much you adored the arena mechanics of 10. The flooding/draining of the arena and how it forced us to alternate between using the 'lanes' as well as the broader arena made the fight super dynamic IMO.

@@blackmagekongs2588 i disagree about the turrets, the tank yeets are fun yeah, but the turrets it's just like "why?" the amount of times i'm standing infront of my turret (the last 1) and out of nowhere, nobody is moving it starts snapping onto another player that isn't even close to it, or before i switched from RDM to WAR, the amount of times i'm standing infront of my tower, aimed it correctly, then someone just walks by to their tower and now it's permanently locked onto them? just shitty design, should've been a passable tether.

@@DarkDyllon honestly never really had troubles with turrets. It seemed like the turrets are janky but its actually pretty responsive to the person in front. In my prog experience its always been the guy aiming turrets is slightly off or the tank moves too close to the turret and messes up the aim. Not a huge deal as long as tanks pop a small defensive learn to stay lined up with their aimer, you can brisk right through it.

When my static was doing curtain call on content, we would always refer to it as a like a 2 1/2 minute trust fall. You literally have to stand there and focus on YOUR JOB and trust everyone else to do it too, you can't rely on anyone but your other members. So stressful but still so very cool

I know I am biased because it was my very first on-content tier-4th fight I cleared, but P8S has easily been my top fight of the series. I love so much about this fight as a healer (AST): the variable mechanic timing (2 healing CD sequences to learn), the damage output to heal, learning to be the shotcaller for my group. The music for both phases. The lore using us as his experiements. Weaving casts fluidly with the movements for Snakes and NA1/2. The absolute crunch of so many sound effects like Aioniopyr/Limitless/Dominion. The whole fight is visually stunning and got me so hype every time. The entirely of the post-phoenix-res portion feels like one long 40% enrage check, and I adore when a fight almost makes you hold your breath in anticipation of not choking on the final stretch. Maybe I would have a different opinion on a non-healing job, but as a healer it was a phenomenal experience.

Finally someone with something positive to say about p4s TT. It's my favorite fight of the expansion too but I only saw people really disliking it. Glad to know I'm not the only one with that opinion.

P11 is my favorite simply because of the theme. Fighting a happy Themis for one last time, in the basking glow of a sunny and hopeful Amaurot, was very nice feeling for me. And the soundtrack that goes along with it has so much joyful passion in it.

I love the mechs of P10S I main tank and the tower tankbuester is the best way to do a tanbuster I have seen. But doing it in party finder is hell. A lot of people lie in their prog point. Bonds 3 is the hardest mech cuz if 1 dpesnt know what to do is a wipe

Only thing I hate about the P10S towers is doing them dozens of times every day, and that one time i whiff when the SAM pipes up "I've done the tower 4 times successfully, if you need more practice join a fresh prog party". Like fuck off SAM , four times is one thing but try doing them 100 times and tell me how many you clip the edge of the platform lol. Needed to take a break from pf after that one.....

I LOVE P2. My favorite one over all. P4 was also a lot of fun. Asph is 1, then this current one, then the second. Loved p10. The only mechanic I didn’t like is the tank towers. The anxiety of missing the platform later in stresses me out. Love everything else p8s progging with a static I joined was rough. Liked the fight but happy to be done with it

I agree for the most part with this list. My list would change slightly here and there depending on the fight because my short term memory is really bad, so depending on the mechanics and how you have to remember them, it does affect my enjoyment of a fight.

I found it very amusing that he disliked fights I loved and enjoyed the ones I despised XD I quite liked figuring out my hardcasts during Agdistis, and the eternal memes of Cachexia during Hegemone kept me going for ages, whereas fighting the Phoenix always left me with sore eyes, and I could not care any less about running around for Hesperos. Plus, PF traps on P8S where every party (even weekly reclears) was animals prog party.

Had a buddy that tried to clear that tier, he kept losing phase 1 to gorgons because people never handled it appropriately. Iirc he cleared about 2 weeks before the next tiers dropped

My static spent a full 5 months in p8s alone and we didnt even clear it (stuck at NA 2). Trying it in PF on my own, getting to animals 2 was extremely rare and never made it to the 2nd phase. Maybe I'm just not fit for raiding.

I feel the same. I did P1S with my old fc but the group basically fizzled during P2S so I never got to complete the tier. I was in a new fc/static from P5 onwards so I’ve gotten to do all those … still working on p12 at the moment and have had a blast through all of it :)

As someone who only started doing savage when current this expansion (I had done a handful of older fights way later and extremes since shb on release), I really liked p2s. p1s felt too easy but in week 1 p2s jumped it enough enough it actually felt like a new area of content and executing the fight was really fun and made me want to do it.

I rank 11 much higher because it's fun. Ranking by difficulty yeah it's way down there but by fun? It has great music, great arena, great vibes. I love reclearing that and I expect I'll be doing runs for fun during the draught.

My opinion is the exact opposite, I despise reclearing it because I think it's boring and repetitive and the music is good but not a savage-fight worhty of good for me, and thank god my static thinks the same so we just skip it now

Absolutely agree!! I LOVE 11. The voice lines, the good vibes, the good music, etc. it’s not a hard fight but I don’t think it needs to be. I do understand ppl’s issues with it but I think it’s a very fun fight anyway

P2 and P3 were my favorite fights as a player who was new to raiding in not only ffxiv but mmos in general. P2 was just flat out fun and P3, with me being a tank learning about boss positioning and tethers and the adds. I learned so much about the game from these fights and have so many good memories from them they will always be at the top.

I really liked pinax as a mechanic. There is so much RNG involved with tile location, order of elements, cardinal shifts, sword/cape so that every pull feels different while not feeling too complicated. I think p4s p2 suffers from act 1 having to act as a tutorial, and act 4 / finale being a bit simple but otherwise I really enjoyed how the raid mechanics fit the boss being the director of a play! It's the classic FF14 raid moment where all 8 people do something and you end up surviving as a party but even more directly told as part of the raid mechanic. So cool when everyone takes the tower one by one or 'take a bow' one by one in curtain call. I also think curtain call was a really nice "you actually have to heal instead of rely on oGCDs" moment! You don't actually get too many of those...

Honestly for me i really loved the phoinix fight just the color got to me. if and honestly im surprised they didnt do this i wouldnt mind if the arena at the start stayed what it was but as soon as you did the adds phase and the boss sits there and charges up the psuedo enrage it literally blasts black/purple fire why did that not automatically change the arena's lighting to that? it might be a bit jarring constantly going between the 2 if you wipe but still. aside from that loved the fight it was one of my favorite fights back in asphodelos along with p2 and p4s p2

I hope that in time I can view p8s with the same optimism as I do with e8s ("it sucked to do but I recognise the fight's potential") but goddamn I hate that second phase so much. It exemplifies a lot of what I dislike about the current raid design ethos with mechanics so punishing there's no real room for recoverability (which further adds to the issue of healers being bored out of their minds in reclears), and forcing the 2min meta onto jobs that didn't work that way (I'll forever miss you Paladin). I also worry, and this is somewhat out of left field really, how both p8s and p12s will survive into the unsyncable era of their lifespan. The punishment for failing Shapes or High Concept outscales gear creep, and I don't see parties skipping either until late into 7.x's cycle (also something to be said for p8s's damage buff phase? How will that work with unsync?).

i recleared p8s recently for fun and with current ilvl u skip animals2 easy and u kill the boss right after HC2 once the phoenix buff is applied. ig unsynced u might skip a bit more but u still gotta know how to do fourfold and HC

P8S was just so stressful for me. Speaking as a casual raider that raids with a static only two nights a week. Progging it was fun initially but getting into that limbo of technically being on part 2 but still shaky on the end of part 1 was absolutely miserable. There was at least one week where we never saw part 2 at all. Keep in mind, this is a group that had done all of the Eden raids too. Part 2 was so much more fun to do, yeah its not hitting my nuts with a hammer, but its just fun to do everything (and high concept is still pretty difficult to do for more casual raiders). I really enjoyed P4S, maybe shouldn't have repeated Pinax, but I don't think brand new, super hard mechanics at the very end of a fight is great design. I haven't gotten to P12 yet, but currently P4 is still my top fight of the raid series.

My stress from p8s was dps check was quite tight for PF. Especially for A2C. Loot party usually better, but at one time I cleared like 11 times in 2 days. Another time 60 pot 0 clear.

i thought p4s was really boring honestly. maybe it was more exciting for melees since pinax was harder for them but it was a literal non-mechanic for ranged dps. i also found it really lame how the phase 2 boss is literally just a recolored pazuzu from eureka, why did a vampire become pazuzu? i'd put phoinix above hesperos honestly. curtain call was cool but it wasn't enough to redeem it

From the tank perspective my biggest issue with p2s (and this was a problem throughout Asphodelos) was just that it was pretty silly what Holmgang's short cd did to the split-busters. If there'd been other tank mechanics going on it'd have mattered less, but it was just that plus either taking a tether away from the group or standing in front of the group.

I think the only big deviation I have is with P3S, and it's not even due to the color issue. I just don't think the fight's mechanically cohesive. You end up doing so many different but disparate things that could have been two or three separate fights, and it ended up feeling like how I felt in P6S: lost in what mechanic was going on and why this was supposed to be engaging. Fountains of Fire is probably the one thing that's the funnest to do (healer and non-healer), and just one mechanic isn't really enough. I can't really string together a narrative throughout the fight, and that really saps a lot of its potential staying power for me. I'm glad you put P10S and P4S so high up, though. They're the standout fights of this expansion for me, tbh. SCH this expansion has been exciting in a lot of different ways, but those two fights were incredible examples of just how wild you can go in this game. Overall, I'm excited for what they do next.

i'm the opposite, i really don't like fights where they slowly let you do one piece of the puzzle one by one, because you just get really bored doing the simple mechanics for most of prog. p7s is of course the the biggest and most notable offender of this type of fight design, but there are plenty of less egregious ones too. wow yeah this debuff says stack or spread you don't say??? wow the bird is a line aoe and the cow is a chariot? glad we had to spend like two whole entire boss casts to get that message across. i much prefer mechanics where we are doing really different things in each one p3s also has the honor of being the only savage fight in this expansion with an add phase, and might i add a really well-done add phase too. the amount of tanks and healers who were filtered by the adds is honestly incredible and i had multiple prog parties where the tanks would literally lose aggro to a dps bursting one of the birds and cause the positioning of the bird corpses to be messed up, simply because they didn't understand how to properly establish aggro on adds. and you had to move the adds too! just for the mere fact that it asks more from the supports than most other fights do nowadays, i have to give it massive props

The only thing different for me in that list is I would have bumped P11 up a couple of places. But that's because I come from the perspective of Asphodelos being my first tier, so I never did E11

my main issue with p11s is that it's so much repeat, the same issue i had with p5 and p6s aswell where it's "light and dark mechanic #9" or "ruby mechanic #7" or "tile mechanic #5" if you even doze off for a second in p11s, you have to either ask where you are or pray that you can figure it out on the spot, which honestly, p11s is a snoozefest till letter of the law. but that's also honestly something i start to hate in this expansion. "let's put the hardest mechanics at the end of the fight" thematically doesn't make sense either, since you're fight hard against a boss, you and the boss will tire out, yet somehow the boss manages to get a 2nd wind and throw everything they had at the beginning at you? Letter of the Law is probably the best example since that should've been swapped with dark and light, would make the fight a bit more enjoyable. for p10s, it's just that it's "oh, here, have another set of debuffs, the same you had before" coupled with an extremely inconcistent snapshot, seen plenty of times where the animation started, everyone is in their position, yet it snapshot before that. (so before the timer even expires) harrowing hell is a desperation attack, so i get why it's there, just don't like the amount of damage it does near the end of the fight, i don't mind hard hitting things, but that is just straight up insane, that's something you would expect in an ultimate, not 2nd fight of the savage tier.

I loved the over all design of p8s but it's the first savage fight that has caused me stress. I'm a healer main and don't enjoy the somewhat RNG that can cause some players to be out of range of my heals or both healers.

Agree with your #1 ranking. I loved that fight, especially the 2nd phase and curtain call was the single most exciting ending to any raid ive done.

I still feel certain that 5-7 were developed in a different order from their release and then changed at the metaphorical last minute. I may be wrong, but it genuinely feels like that to me from both a mechanical design perspective and a story-side perspective.

You had me completely on board until the the ordering of the top 3, personally I would've put 3- P4S (The music doesn't change, phase 1 is just recycled at the end and phase 2 is all told to you visually every mechanic so it didn't feel like we solved anything), 2- P8S same reasons you had, 1- P10S is just my absolute favorite savage fight I've played in YEARS.

Excluding 11 and 12 cause we haven't reached them yet: 10) P7 - I don't mind this but it is rather dull for a third fight, and it only gets interesting at the end. 9) P3 - I'm only putting P7 below it because it wasn't as challenging as it should have been. P3 was, but...I don't know, it's just not remotely fun to me. I didn't feel that rewarding rush for doing one of the harder mechs correctly like Fountains or Tornadoes, it was more annoyed relief. I hate it. Annoying mechanics, annoying timings, annoying clunky tethers every 10 seconds. Nothing on T12, and it eludes me why people keep putting this higher. [starts engraving name on tombstone on this hill] 8) P6 - I don't think it's _that_ bad, but they could've made the + / x patterns less predictable, and the Cachexias were decent. 7) P1 - good for what it was, can't really fault it. 6) P9 - it's a weird gauntlet of rather simple mechs with a few walls thrown in, Levinstrike is a bit wild for a first fight, but overall it's decent. 5) P4 - Mmm I'm not feeling this one as much as you. Pinax was as cool as it was frustrating, but a huge swathe of the first fight was extremely easy and unengaging due to the fixed positioning for the orbs. Second phase was better and thematically cool, but I don't think it's a top tier savage fight. First phase brings it down a bit for me. 4) P5 - Pretty fascinating for a first fight, some tight dances in Ruby 5, and the infamous Devour being notoriously unforgiving. Fairly engaging throughout though. 3) P2 - Hot take? I just think it's incredibly well done with its use of the arena space, the careful positioning requirements in places. A breath of fresh air to raid design like Cloud of Darkness was prior. The start of Limit Cut: The Raid Tier. 2) P10 - Still working on this one but I don't mind, I can see why it's become so beloved. 1) P8 - My old raid group would string me up for this opinion. I do think it's one of the more tightly-tuned final fights, possibly the hardest since Midas? But you can't fault the pacing of either fight. The first one is just non stop checks to your arena awareness, the god damn overlapping arena grids, was it octa or tetra?, working out snake priorities...it was wild. Second phase also opens hard. Second phase has some filler, and second iterations of Alignment and Concept are a little underwhelming, but overall this fight was a wild ride.

From perspective of someone who progged the tier and did most of reclears on healer p10s was quite awful. I kept hearing people saying that it's a fun fight for the entire tier and I really didn't understand what they were talking about until recently I tried to do it on melee for fun. Healing it just flat out sucks. And I'm not talking about harrowing hell - it's massively overrated for healing, but otherwise forgettable, if things are mitigated properly you just spam heals for a while and then it's done, if things aren't properly mitigated, at least before you overgear it, you simply wipe. Nothing that can be done about it because healing kits don't really offer anything that you can use skillfully, if all your resources aren't enough then you're just not healing through it. My issue with healing it was simply that it's 10 minutes of mostly standing still and pressing one button rarely interwoven with very simple and predictable movement. There's not much you can do with creative movement and pooling movement tools as for the most of it movement is relatively small for healers. As a result it ends up being a fight in which there's very little skill expression for healers and repeated pulls begin to blend in really fast. I had more fun greeding casts and minimising movement required to solve mechanics during certain parts of p11s than throughout the entirety of p10s.

p10s is a tragedy at PF, clear parties not being clear parties BUT once you clear, such relief still because we all get so much stressed with the random casual BAD players at PF for me it would be like one of the very last. p4s is the first for me then p2s, p8s, p12s, p3s, p9s, p1s, p10s, p5s, p6s and p11s all according to frustrations/dificult level from PF but also such good reclears.

Top 4 2 10 12 8 One thing I'll say that has nothing to do with the mechanics itself is P12s. I love the reference in the name and how the names of the mechanics contradict it. Unless you studied Greek mythology or found out in a subreddit, seeing that level of creativity for a boss for it to go over many of our heads is insane.

Watching this after just having cleared P10S, what a nightmare in PF this truly is.. It really is a fun fight, but the people make it really frustrating more than any other encounter from this raid tier.

After oracle of darkness, the second phase of athena doesn't feel like the final boss. Even if you remember enrage, which was just diabolical there. There's not even much point in talking about the rest of the mechanics. But the most complex and interesting fight I consider and will consider E8S. Shiva was great. The fight was made quite complex. We used stan, immobilization, esuna, and interruption, which we NEVER used until Athena.

E8S is probably my 2nd favorite fight in FF14 with E12S P2 (specifically, P1 was just boring) being my absolute favorite. E8S was fine once you got past Light Rampant, once you got past that the fight actually opens up a lot, each mechanic feels good to execute and everyone has a clear role for everything. and E12S (oracle of darkness) just felt insanely fun, to the small optimizations you could do, like when you get knocked back most stayed out, i could pop sprint, dash ASAP after the knockback, get a GCD in, make it to the stack and return to the boss before i would lose a GCD. the mechanics also felt right, every relativity, although all being named similar to each other, felt completely different. the 1st was just very basic, not hard to execute especially as tank/healer. 2nd was a bit more involved but fairly simple once you get it. (read from right to left and execute in that order) and the 3rd was just a clusterfuck but it was very precise. i miss that in this expansion, a fight where it was coherent, since most just felt "throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" also that for some reason, 2nd and 3rd tiers of Endwalker have stupid snapshot issues, you would get hit from a mechanic you were out 1 second before it went off for example (p9s, p10s and p11s all suffer from this, p11s if you pop KB immunity after 3/4th of the cast bar, you get knocked into the wall while you popped your KB immunity and it's on CD for a good 3-4 seconds.

The second phase of p12s can really be boring and lack of mechanics but I still love it. Music is epic and Athena's JP VA sounds amazing(btw I couldn't find any info about VA it's sad), I really enjoy this fight despite of difficulty.

I agree with your rankings, except id swap p4 and p8 around. Curtain Call or w.e the last mechanic was, while yes its a cool theme, it was stupid in pf. You had to pray and hope ppl were looking at their debuffs.

Always funny to hear people love P10S or use of the environment, but then say Kefka savage was boring :P Either way, P10S is ridiculously well designed. Every aspect of the mechanics were used to full advantage (stack marker on the player with the web aoe, forcing another player to save them from death by breaking the web) and making the tanks feel important. Harrowing Hell brough back the memory of when i first tanked my first EX, Sephirot, where he did a tank buster immediately after a heavy room wide aoe.

P3s isn't the bottom for being absolutely impossible to see anything because of the eye bleeding orange? When a fight causes people genuine physical discomfort, that should be an auto bottom achievement, regardless of the mechanics.

Every single mechanic in 6 is named 'Polyominoid Sigma' and consists of X and + shaped markers, which might or might not be tethered together, in the same configuration every time, rotated either 90 or 180 degrees. Literally the primary mechanic in the fight is getting so bored you forget where you are in the timeline, because absolutely nothing else matters or is the least bit dangerous. Oh and I guess there's Flood Ray at the start. For some inscrutable reason.

P9S was honestly the worst of the first fights imo specifically BECAUSE of Levinstrike. Wiping because the slowest people in our group to learn a mechanic just couldn’t get a defam to save their life sucked, and I *wish* SE had not made that mech full random. It sucked.

P4S is definitely a solid top spot. Surprisingly fond memories of all the mechanics (not you Pinax) and especially Curtain Call.It's just so intense and rewarding to pull off. My top spot is easily P2S. What a unique, fun fight. I almost felt bad after gearing up enough to skip phases because I liked it so much. Maybe a top 5 of all time for me.

P1-4S were the best for a variety of reasons, and you don't even need to go indepth as to why. Abyssos was horribly mismanaged, thanks covid for screwing up dev time no doubt, and P9-12S are 'good' but really only have that 1 or 2 cool mechanics...Well, not P12S, but I have issues with a lot of P12/P8S in terms of savage fights. (Good fights that are fun to prog, I dread reclears so much, I straight up stopped with P12S, just not worth it)

can we stop giving the devs a pass for covid? covid was long over during endwalker, the entire covid craze was done after 5.4, on top that Endwalker was delayed so that the dev team wouldn't have to cut corners for content. the 2nd tier being horribly miss managed is on the falure of the dev team, nothing more nothing less, we should stop giving them a pass on bad design. the same with the 3rd tier, i keep hearing the excuse for the devs go around "well, they had to also make FF16" so? why does FF14 have to suffer for FF16? i like FF16, but i play FF14 more, why is it FF14 who suffers (btw, FF14 is the ONLY thing keeping SE afloat right now, stocks after FF16 have already dropped by 10-15%, it's almost like taking that shitty exclusivity deal was stupid) but honestly, 2nd and 3rd tier just feel bad, especially if you got a bad static or didn't clear it early on in the tier with PF.

This is part of the reason why I won’t get on the EW hate train. Have i had some issues with this expansion? Absolutely (lack of grindable casual battle content, 2 minute meta amongst other things ) there are still things i loved or at least generally really liked about EW. Some really great raid encounters being one of them.

For me - P3S is in 12th place. 1. Colour palette was awful. 2. Mechanics we’re just a repeat of the same shit over and over. 3. Add phase was just annoying as fuck if people aren’t clocked in. 4. Tethers are hella frustrating, no matter what fight it is, and my god. Flames of Asphodelos was frustrating AF in PF. If you liked P3S - all the more power to ya.

can agree with this list other then p11 and p12. as some1 that didn't do e11s its a fun boss and great music. p12 maybe i can agree if you combine the phases, but honeslty p12 phase 2 is so bad the music is terrible and the mechanics are so zZzZ then also light pf does rinon caloric 1 wich is omega cringe. p12s is actualy the only boss i dread reclearing out of the 12 in the tier. even tho i agree that p12 p1 could be a contender for best boss phase 2 would make me put at the bottom. i would probebly put p8 at nr1 i love that boss and best music of the tier imo

I find p10s very unfair to be honest. It's not that it's hard, because mechanically it isn't, it's just that there is very little room for mistakes. The difficulty, to me at least, only comes from the size of the aoe on bonds and the tight timing on bonds 3, the rest is honestly not that hard. Most of the deaths on that fight are just "Oh no you did the mechanic right, you were just half a step too far to the right". What makes it so frustratring is the delirious amount of body check in this fight, holy sh*t there are a lot of those.

Of course early in the video as I’m writing this, but P7S I’m actually fine with ngl? I really love how Sleepo made Bonds just felt SATISFYING. Like sliding a puzzle piece in perfectly. An example is the early mechanic in E10S where you angle yourself to make a safe spot in the middle with the shadow cleaves on the players. It just FEELS good

Sleepo Purgation was one of the biggest oversights on the devs with that fight, where you essentially CHEESE one of the major mechanics of the boss. Also Sleepo was only possible with third party waymarks if i'm not mistaken, and that is a whole other fiasco in it self.

While I haven't done savage, I'm shocked to see 2 of my fav fights in this tier to be the two worst. Those fights are just fun. Especially when compared to other fights that barely have any mechanics or those that I've heard about and why they were bad like P3S

Encounter design is kinda stale rn. I just feel there’s nothing interesting to the fights to keep you engaged. Bosses just stay static in the middle of the fight as mechanics occur. Wish movement of the boss became a more important role for tanks but the most they do is just spin the boss around. Raids don’t pour out constant damage so it’s easy to just anticipate pressing your healer buttons. DPS don’t have anything interesting to do. I would hope the new expansion revitalises raid design but I suspect they won’t change it up

Doing my boy Eric Tony bad. P1 was the perfect fight for it's position in the tier. And boy P10 being anywhere close to top half is wild. That fight is 3 minutes of mechanics with a loop on them. There were times during prog I couldn't tell if it was the first iteration or second because they are so identical.

P1S was too easy. EX2 and 3 are harder which is a bad look when it's Savage vs Extreme and it being so easy created a lot of trap parties for P2S. There's no real body check except for the tiles and that mechanic was so braindead that you could just outright disrespect it and it didn't matter. P5S is better for a turn 1 fight.

It really does feel like 10 and 11 were originally swapped, but they changed it for story reasons without changing the mechanics much. Themis definitely had to have his own theme with the Amaurot leitmotif in it, and it would have been weird going from that back to the same theme as P9. I'd almost be willing to bet that Parted Plumes had more going on and they cut it down. It's barely a dungeon boss mechanic, and it's pretty much the last mechanic in the fight.

Yeah parted plumes felt very much like "okay after all these hours of prog and stressing out about bonds/turrets/harrowing hell, DO YOU REMEMBER THIS ATTACK FROM NORMAL? NO? Oh.... you're all doing it anyway?" It's like, well shit, that was the easiest mech to pull form normal and not even change at all

P3S is genuinely my least favorite raid fight. I hate the Phoinix for everything except the design of the monster. Terrible design throughout. My favorite is P8S easily. Hephaistos reignited my love for raiding.

honestly, p4s was decent, not that amazing but decent, Pinax can go die in a fire, such a poorly designed mechanic, if you get spreads at your first, you better be at your position or pop sprint and pray that you don't clip someone else randomly. also HARD disagree with p10s, but that's a gripe i got in this expansion as a whole, the over reliance on body checks, 1 dude fucked up? well, either his/her partner dies, or 2 other die (maybe even 4 if light parties) seems overkill the amount of body checks they ended up relying upon. also another issue i just have with the last 2 raid tiers is how poorly the snapshots were made, normally you can easily see the snapshot, but especially in p9, 10 and 11s (haven't completed p12s yet, but doubt it'll be much different unfortunately) 1 mechanic is super generous, then the other mechanic snapshots you when the mechanic hasn't even resolved yet, for example with p11s knockbacks, i'm on 22ms ping, if i pop my knockback immunity after 3/4th of the cast bar is done, it didn't register and i'm in the wall, i know that this is the case, but then you got p10s in/out mechanic which snapshots you a good second to half a second before it resolved into the donuts/point blanks where you can easily stand in it and move out without getting hit, the snapshots are all over the place, which normally they're fairly concistent with. also granted, enjoying a raid tier/fight heavily relies on your envirement, are you in PF and getting bad parties? are you in a static with super concistent members or perhaps the opposite, if you got the 1st and 3rd, you're not liking these fights.

P12S p2 is so bad it takes it to bottom 3 for me. It’s so boring. Especially offtanking. P1 is great, but the huge miss on p2 just killed it for me.

If i were to rank it based on my pf experience, from worst to best. it would be -> P10S-P3S-P9S-P8S-P4S-P12S-P7S-P6S-P11S-P2S-P5S-P1S. P10S is the worst thing ever. P3S was Living hell on earth with the fucking spreads. P9S is incredibly boring yet annoying enough to create ruckus due to lc1 and surprisingly lc2... P8s was impossible because of snakes 2, part 2 was HC, NA and dominion memes. P4S is a curtain call and act2 fuckfest. P12S, pf is consistent enough with part 1, but part 2 is absolute dogshit with classical 2 pvp and caloric 1 jank. P7S was some backloaded bullshit in the end with ppl being unable to do harvests, also the strat split with the last harvest with oppo or inumaru was super annoying. P6S is just kind of there, a bit cursed sometimes in reclears but not the biggest offender. P2S was just, occasionally wiping to stupid shit but arrows 2 and 3 were another pvp shitfest. P5S, Ruby 5 was the deciding factor between a kill and a wipe i guess. P1S was, chains 2... All in all P8S is objectively my favourite savage fight of all time despite the miserable pf experience.

i absolutely agree about P4 being the best, its a fantastic fight the whole way through. i personally liked p6 and im greatly enjoying p11, but im not good enough to be a world first racer. im a big fan of the middle tier difficulty fights, harder than EX but not as brutal as P3 or P10. p7 being bottom of the list is also 100% true, its just too slow. i play tanks, so once i was geared up, even the final barrage of mechanics became brainless where id just use all my mits and pick a spot that wont kill anyone, and the mechanic solved itself around me.

The bulk of Abyssos is what I can only describe as 'raid sludge'. Literally 80% of the mechanics across the tier share names with each other; you don't know which Ruby Glow I'm thinking of because we had to number them ourselves; every mechanic in Hedgemone is a fucking Polyominoid Sigma or a Cachexia; there aren't even gestures towards differentiating them, because they all feel the fucking same. P5S is just obnoxious because it's a first floor that is almost as pleasantly sleepy as P1S (which I frankly had more fun with despite it being literally almost as easy as the normal just because it meant it was fun to reclear and fuck around with for 7 minutes once a week), but then Devour and RG5 are exactly punishing enough that you have to give a shit and they're both 5+ minutes into the fight. Hedgemone is literally easier than Carbuncle because every single on of her mechanics is 'learn which offset X marker is the tell for this mechanic and then stand on the correct tile' for like 10 minutes straight. Agdistis is a 2 minute fight with an 8 minute waiting room between pulls. And I'm gonna be honest-- I didn't even fucking make it to P8S not because I couldn't, but because I'd looked at guides for 8-2 and thought 'wow, that also doesn't seem very fun, I think I'm just going to give up raiding for a while'. I feel like there's gotta be special mention to a raid tier so dull that it genuinely accelerated my burnout and made me quit the whole video game for the foreseeable future, honestly. It's incredible how big of a step down it was after Asphodelos genuinely being an extremely good prog experience and super fun weekly static reclears. I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes but it really feels like *something* happened.

I don't agree with this at all and I'm only up to the p2s part. why did people hate 6 and 7 so much? everyone hates on that entire tier so much and I don't get it. are they perfect fights? no. but they're not as awful as everyone says they are. or like 11. everyone says it's a ripoff of thanjit and I don't see it at all, he has like 2 things that are similar.

Something I saw a bit with 7 was that from the people I know, non-healers said it's extremely boring, while healers just hated it for being needlessly stressing. I thought 6 was ok though.
