@@studiocalder818 It was organized by a friend, so it was not his. But yes, he said that the Fiat and Lancia years were the best. Group B added some challenges for his driving style, like left food braking so he was happy to go to a 4WD car too.

....but I doubt this will be the same for the UK. I did not vote for Brexit by the way, but we are far behind all other western European countries where electric cars are concerned, and the infrastructure that goes with them. Petrol cars will still be driven in the UK in 2030, and probably beyond. The country would go into meltdown if it adopted the same rules on all petrol cars from 2025 as the EU. And there would be no shortage of 'refuseniks' and people willing to protest in central London about this being an infringement of their civil rights. Like America, there are lots of angry people in the UK who would fight tooth and nail against the EU trying to extend this to the UK. Personally, I think even for EU countries, this rule is coming too soon. Between 2030 and 2035 we need to have a Europewide gradual transition from petrol to electric (which would include the UK). This would allow the infrastructure required for such a transition to be completed, and would give people and businesses sufficient time to replace their vehicles. Doing all of this soon after 2025 is too soon. Too many people still aren't ready for it. The UK is an obvious example, even though we're not in the EU. It would be disastrous for the UK, from our unprepared point of view. Yes, the Tories have had plenty of time to do something about this, but they have chosen not to.... because many Tory politicans are 'anti Electric vehicles', and they won't change their views on them. It's a kind of entrenched defiance against technology, and refusal to accept the way the future is going. Very turbulent times lie ahead for us in the UK unfortunately. Mainland Europe by contrast will seem 'serene'.
