partially, although there's other factors like Mitsubishi may not think they have the dealer network to sell and service them, so it's easier to let Fiat handle that. Also a lot of times they'll do small cosmetic changes or slight features to appeal to different markets. Like this truck is now coming to the United States and they'll definitely change the styling a lot (exterior and probably interior too) and probably offer it with a gas instead of diesel engine.

Ninooooo Jeep is a hideous brand, interiors are shocking bad, cheap nasty plastic, and have been ripping off range Rover looks wise for the last 15 years.

Alan B have you ever been in a Jeep? The interiors aren’t the best in the world but they’re meant to be able to be covered in mud and easily cleaned, but there is no cheap plastic. I can’t see any resemblance between a Jeep and a Range Rover as they both look completely different and both brands have their own unique styling which they’ve been using for years (Jeep also invented the SUV so if anything Range Rover is copying them by making SUVs) Maybe before you write such a stupid comment again you can drive your 2002 Nissan micra to your nearest jeep dealer to see how good they actually are.

Where are you going to "offroad" in the UK? There are a few trails but most public parkland is well protected, and most private land is a bit civilized for all that. Pickups are popular elsewhere but how much real offroading happens there?

janetsbrick tbh there are wankers that drive round in 4x4's and never go off roading. Bit in Australia off roading and overlanding is very popular. 4x4's are.everywhere.

If you look at the newer ones they're getting squarer on the front. The 2016-2019 models were better looking Yes that includes the L200 Triton. Only differences between that one and the Fiat Fullback is different grills on the front.

Vehicles have always been marketed to demographics though? How many dads are out there oohing over sports cars that are in stratospherically high co2 tax bands? I guess I don't see that much difference between a mum in a crossover and a mum in an mpv, they'll both hurt when you get run over.

It's not about DADS or MOMS! It's about that SUV's have been marketed as "safer" when they aren't. They kill thousands a year, and yes are more deadly than a MPV. Why? The higher wheel base, and thus nose hitting the pedestrian at a higher level. Were even with an MPV, like the Chrysler Grand Voyager, there is a rounder nose and it's lower to the ground. SUV's and Trucks are meant for higher ground clearance and are working cars for farmers and those that have to drive over rough terrain. There are plenty of "DADS" that also buy it for the "rugged looks" (Think Hummers in the USA), and it's just as idiotic. Add to that the earlier mentioned "marketed as safer", they aren't. SUV's and trucks are just marketed that way due to being bigger. All the while the space inside is actually worse than an MPV. Add to that it is a scam by the car companies to skirt around the safety regulations (Trucks do not need to pass the same regulations as passenger cars, and also are exempt from a lot of emission regulations), they are actually WORSE for the driver and the passengers in safety. As really they were never MEANT for the open road or city traffic. They were meant for people that need it to go over rough terrain, not drive 80Mph, over a fast lane. AGAIN the high clearance will screw you over, you are more likely to tumble and thus endanger yourself. YES also far more likely than a comparable MPV, as they DO need to follow safety regulations. I know this pisses some "Soccermoms", but I was replying to the oh so stupid:"Mom friends, whom quite like the Cross Over Style Look,.." remark. The exact same goes for men that buy these trucks for just day to day driving. It is a machismo thing of both, one for safety the other thinking they are Sylvester Stalone in an action movie. Again, I have no problem with SUVs and Trucks, if they are used for what they are supposed to be used for. But I'm SICK AND TIRED of the car companies skirting around regulations and actually killing of pedestrians and drivers due to making people believe lies. SUVs are not safer, SUVs are not good off road cars (not the ones that the car companies make for Soccer Mom's and "Action Jackson Dads" at least) and they certainly are not good value for money or have enough space for their size. Sadly is Car makers are flooding the market with them. For goodness sake, Ford doesn't even release any car but Pony Cars and Trucks in the USA any more :(.
