Fibaro Motion Sensor Setup and Settings Guide
Hello Automaters!
Today we're setting up the #Fibaro Motion Sensor and going over its highly customizable settings for your smart home needs!
This eyeball shaped sensor also is Z-Wave compatible and works as a temperature sensor. It changes color to tell you what your current room temp is at a glance.
It can also work as a light sensor and save battery power by adjusting its brightness.

I tested it as well, great sensor. Aeotec Multisensor 6 remains my favourite multisensor, and the Osram/Sylvania 1 is the best price/quality for me, but this is still great if you can find it below 40€. I experienced battery drain with 1 piece though, and a couple of people I know experienced the same.

Oh how I wish Sylvania would re-release that motion sensor. I have 5 and they are great. Small size, long battery life, temp sensor that can also trigger alexa routines, reliable and cheap.

Is a hub mandatory ? Can it work as a stand-alone product and just pair it with an app ?

Hello sir. I have multiple z-wave fibaro sensors like this one, will they work if I buy the Aeotec smart things hub? I don’t want to buy the fibaro HCL as I do not think it is worth the money.

I used them with SmartThings, but these days you need to find an edge driver. Fibaro should make one, but check in with them on that.

I'm trying to set the sensor for the minimal blind time as well as motion cancellation delay (1 second for both) but it doesn't appear as if it influences the sensor. Are you using Edge driver right now or you are still using device handler?

This was a device handler. Give z wave devices a day to accept the new settings or look up how to trigger an update

@@TechYourLife1 It's been a few days since I set the blind time and motion event cancellation delay to 1 second but the minimal time for motion detected is 30 seconds (which is the default value according to the manual). Maybe this is the minimal time for this motion sensor hardware wise or the driver doesn't actually have any impact on that setting.
