Love this. In the movie PAPER MOON, the little girl loved FIBBER MCGEE AND MOLLY I always wanted to hear it. I was born in 1960.

Just wonderful. Back when this country was Christian and even on the radio talked of the need for families to worship together. It's like a total different country we live in now. God help us.

Dear And WHICH CHRISTIAN would that be? There are 301 denominations; which one is your idea of when This country "was Christian"? My dear. Please check your education and 5th grade teacher- This country has never been designated Christian. It has always been ALWAYS BEEN non religious as to invite every person to worship at the religious center of their choice. Please do not make the mistake of making this nation the affiliated sister to Iran, Rome or Egypt, when a person must worship at the nationally prescribed center, church, Temple, or mousque. You worship your way. Please DoN't assume for me that my country in CHRISTIAN, when, in fact, my country is America. Family members Including: Methodist Lutheran Catholic Muslim and reform Judaism. So I was just thinking based on getting “Mom” a gift, I think if you design a counter top old time radio filled with stories like this, it’d be a great gift!

Is this the last one? When did the show end? How terrible to think your show is ending, after 14 yrs. I can't imagine... However Maybe they were tired by then. I remember CARE packages, even in early Viet nam days. My father sent CARE packages to vets there. M. Il. USA. 🇺🇸

The quarter-hour series ended on March 23, 1956 (by then, the series was on twice every day- weekday mornings, for Miles Laboratories {Alka-Seltzer, One-a-Day, et. al.} and weeknights for various sponsors).

55:54- New York did *not* hear "FATHER KNOWS BEST" and Ralph Edwards' "TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES" on Christmas Eve, because WNBC-AM pre-empted those programs during the season for a local music and interview show, "MEET ME AT KAY'S", featuring singer Kay Armen and comedian Louis Nye. Eddie Cantor's program was pre-empted for a special 25 minute version of "A Christmas Carol", featuring Sir Laurence Oliver [recorded in England].

He is so daft. Every damn yr if gets her perfume. She wants a RING! 💍 OR pearl earrings. Or sewing chair or a RING. McGee. You can't ever in wrong with a RING. Even a small sterling lill nothing ring. Damn what's it gonna take ta teach you guys. M

Yep! 😄 I'm not much into jewelry, but I do love rings. But ANY gift that shows some real thought or sentiment; the bigger the thoughtfulness behind it, the bigger the gift. I don't think men are wired like that, so we have to train them early - when they're still our sons. 😁

I loved this show, but the mid-late fifties shows did`nt appeal to me as much, because they were shorter and there was no audience, no music, and to me weren`t as funny. Kind of the twilight period for the show.
