Gotta say, with labor/supply and building issues here in FL, it is unusual to have a fiberglass pool but I've noted a few people doing them now due to the time issues of regular pool builds. Usually they are all shot concrete due to the custom/complexity of them and design needs. But if a regular stock shape fiberglass company is good enough and works for you, it takes way less time. A family down the street put a fiberglass pool in and it took like 6 months if I recall from the time they broke ground to completion. Most of that time was the screen enclosure, inspection, pavers and re-sod of the yard. The actual pool install was less than one week after the hole to plumbing it in. Compare that to the 18 months they are usually running now on lead/build time in FL currently. I've been watching a neighbor across the street on a seemingly endless pool build that barely moves month to month. We looked at doing a pool 2yrs ago, but it is just ridiculous having your yard for 18 months now from start/finish torn up and lawn destroyed looking like a mess with no end in sight, and the money spent with nothing to show for it for ages. Most new home builders aren't even offering pools anymore because they can't control/promise any reasonable timing of pool/home completion with the pool builders and state of the business around here. Interesting for sure if it meets your needs an good alternative. Especially now since you have options of spa overflow and sun shelves, which usually were custom options you could only do with concrete/custom shot pools. Good alternative and likely way less expensive.

I don’t understand the reason why they started filling up the pool without cleaning it up first or worse, without filling up the sides first before putting in the water. Did they not have the concern that the pool would get dirty from all the dirt, sand, and leaves around it even before it would have been used?
@allenballew53263 жыл бұрын
You must get the weight of the water in there before rain or groundwater comes a lifts the pool liner up and out of position. Also to resist the hydrostatic pressure from the sides from damaging the liner.

Me too, for me that is part of the peacefulness and serenity. Luckily we were able to find a nice little house for like 200k in jersey and we finallllllly will have a nice sized yard to do stuff with and were kind of thinking of putting something this size or a little smaller in it just for those hot days to dip in the pool. There is a fire pit already there and horseshoe set up and we just want to make it like a little escape back there. We also have a lake 5 mins or less away so it's like we are so ready to do this because we've been living in a cramped apartment with a tiny tiny back yard.

No gravel or weeper around the base of the pool? Oh man lol... When that hole fills with water its going to have nowhere to go and either create a hollow spot under the pool where someone will eventually end up putting their foot right through the fiberglass OR even worse it will lift your pool right up and crack it down the middle from the weight of the water inside. You'd be amazed at the power of water. Whenever digging more than 3 feet down if you're installing something in the ground it absolutely needs a weeper and sloped drainage.
@7Frosty72 жыл бұрын
can you please elaborate, we're building a pool at my grandma's and the team building it said we dont need any kind of drainage system around the pool as the water will evaporate. Im unexpected help would be appreciated.
@miniaci90942 жыл бұрын
@@7Frosty7 it won't "evaporate" that's just ridiculous. Ground water will fill the hole, from rain, spillage over the sides or any number of things. Hydrostatic pressure is real that water has 2 places to go either down or force the pool up. If it goes down like I said it will create a hollow spot from washing out the grave and or dirt. If it goes up it will lift the pool. I'll include a link of a pool lifted right up due to hydrostatic pressure. Installing a weeper around the perimiter of the pool and a vertical pipe down with a submersible 120v pump is not hard or complicated. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g59_f9uH0uC4pJc.html

digging a hole, and making a concrete and gunnite sprayed pool goes pretty quickly and you get a much better product in the end. While I like the idea of this, I think the total cost of the fiberglass buy and install will approach the hard gunnite pool cost
@luthervaughn1 Жыл бұрын
@@gkprivate433 Yes, Fiberglass comes very, very close to gunite. Gunite is the better product at the end, but the process is a bit longer, around 3-4 weeks longer. Both Fiberglass & Gunite have maintenance to their shell down the road, the gunite will be a little more costly. A refinish & tile for a gunite pool 10-20 years down the road will be an easy 20k Not sure how much for a fiberglass...but, i'd say at least half of gunite...but probably quicker...and you like getting fiberglass sliced and stuck in your feet down the road?
