I suggest FIDE invest in some heavier pieces. Triple weighted. This piece dropping thing seems to happen on many boards throughout the tournament.

Atrocious sportsmanship by Firouzja after this game. He appealed by (falsely) claiming that Magnus "spoke loudly in his language" during the match. Fortunately, the bogus appeal was denied. I have *zero* respect for Firouzja until he apologizes for his poor sportsmanship..

علیرضای عزیز خوب بلایی سر مگنوس آوردی دقیقا حریف رو تو قوطی کردی و با فاصله زیادی داشتی شکستش میدادی افسوس که مهره تو افتاد و زمان رو با بد شناسی هر چه تمامتر از تو گرفت . It was a draw as opponent didn't have pieces for checkmate so actually Carlsen should not win It's one of the most important rules of chess How come they forget

Carlsen can checkmate Firouzja from the final position because Firouzja still has pawns. It's not a forced checkmate, but the rules only say that a checkmate must be possible. This is the kind of mistake you make when you play too much online chess and forget the rules of OTB chess.
