Paul heads up the hill for the stalk of his life. He is in Scotland for the red rut, and he is out to try stag stalking that includes not just the standard Scottish package of fabulous scenery and superb professional stalkers. This time, he gets to use a garron pony to bring his animal back down the hill. Plus Deborah Hadfield looks at the rising human cost of bird flu, talking to falconers and other bird professionals. This looks another winner from the field spots team, I've converted 2 people to field sports in recent months using your videos, I really feel we are winning people over daily with a sensible honest approach to hunting and conservation, keep up the fantastic work

Absolutely loved the stalking piece. Particularly enjoyed the emphasis on "behind the scenes", talking to the farrier and showing the loading of the pony. Will be sharing with the Mrs who loves horses but isn't that into fieldsports. Also great to see the estate staff in tweed and to see so many traditions and heritage practises still used in 2022. Just brilliant, thank you again.

Nice to see the Highland Garron pony at work. The late Lea Macnally of Highland Year fame and Highland Deer Forest seemed to enjoy working with them. Both his books are very enjoyable,

Funny enough I really thp7ght about buying an ATV for our hunting area in Germany because there are so many steep hills of brush and forest without roads - so no cars possible. Then I realised there is nothing in terms of all terrain capability like a good pony. So may I rather buy a small horse (3000€) instead a Polaris (12000€)... That video was really encouraging😊

Reindeer hunting in Norway some areas can be combined with horses also as in Scotland,something to have a look at.

Superb; is that pony known as a 'garron'? A bit more detail on the location/estate would be welcome so as to be able to contact- though I'm sure you want to avoid the Antis ! Thanks anyway-Tom

It would have been more fitting if the rifle used in the stalk was wooden- stocked , preferably with open sights , not some soulless ,plastic stocked creation.

Hi - I found this: Dear all, It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, I must inform you all that Idleback Shooting Range and Chairs, have officially ceased trading as of 28/09/2021. After a long, and seemingly successful, fight through the pandemic. Unfortunately, it has caught up with us, and keeping the business running can no longer be afforded, and the business no longer viable. As a family ran business we have come to the decision, that the company must close. I personally, along with the rest of the Horner family, would like to thank each and every one of you, for being so supportive, and for the many years of enjoyment which has been provided by the range, for all of us.
