It's our airgun show AirHeads: Richard Leonard is after Africa's largest waterfowl as part of a, literally, huge pest problem on the farm in the Eastern Cape. It is a film he made for us in August. I'm a plinker, and there's nothing more satisfying than that "thwip" you hear from shooting an air rifle. It's addictive. After seeing Jamie Chandler load a 10 shot mag break barrel, claim it's easy, then shoot, I have no reason to ever complain again.

I have a Gamo Maxxim Elite .22 as well. It's about as accurate as a 12 bore with the same shot spread! I wouldnt bet on hitting a can at 15yds never mind game. Wish I'd never wasted my money.

after using a shotgun for years, I have gone back to a top-quality air rifle Fx wildcat very accurate. now all my bunnies. and others one clean headshot one or two heart shot. nice and clean. no wasted meat, no sudden lump of lead shot jammed in teeth. more skill required stalking all part of the fun.

The Gamo isn't a semi-auto, stop saying it is. And since Gamo and BSA are in partnership, why didn't they use the Goldstar mechanism, much better looking imho

Nice to see Richard so concerned with getting an ethical shot. On a pest species ones concern with an ethical shot could waine a little perhaps. He strikes me as if he'd be as relieved about killing a rat as humanely as he would want to kill a bigger more prized game.
