Fiesta ST Steering Wheel Removal - LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES!!

4 жыл бұрынRemoving the air bag is the first step of removing the ST's steering wheel. This video is how NOT to remove the air bag. Having made my mistakes and subsequently trashing the steering wheel in order to remove the air bag, I now know the secret to removing the air bag without trashing your wheel. Had I have had this video to watch I would have had a much easier time of it and an UNTRASHED steering wheel at the end of the job! Watch this video BEFORE you try to remove the wheel yourself. Only applies to mark 7/7.5 Fiesta ST. Enjoy and good luck.

There are quite a few videos on how to remove the airbag, but as mentioned by the previous guy below you take off the shroud and get to;the air bag release that way. But anyway lesson learned look forward to seeing the new wheel 😀👍

well you say you need to put your screwdriver on the "minus" signs anyway so you still destroy the steering wheel a bit.. I've seen this done without destroying any plastic at all! if you do it like you suggest how is someone going to buy the steering wheel? with those 2 holes in it?

It looks like it is just like the focus mk2 onwards method of sliding a screwdriver down the back of the steering wheel and popping the bar over the locks

lol bro i done the exact same thing to my wheel, i just couldnt get it to release so ended up cutting it apart! did you get a new mount for your airbag to go into?

That is completely the wrong way to remove the airbag, you remove the upper column shroud and turn the steering wheel to 90 degrees, 180 Degrees & 270 degrees and slide a screwdriver down the back of the wheel to pop the spring over the airbag locking tabs as per focus mk2
