Good review. Currently, looking to buy it, but is there a concern if I extend the USB cable either with an extra one, or just use one USB C to A cable. 2 meters is fine, but it would look ugly on my setup

Hey, it's me again. I have a few questions. What gain level in windows would you say is the sweet spot? Standard 75-80%? And which distance to the mic would you recommend for the best quality? Distance from mic I would say is 8-12 inches with higher gain (75-90%). I usually do 60-70% gain with 6-8 inch distance away from mic.

I just adjust audio in premier pro when recording videos. Other than that I don’t personally use any apps for audio with this.

Please tell me which microphone is best for me to choose up to $100? Input data: the current microphone is a t669 with a pantograph, the sound insulation of the room is 5/10, there are no sound panels (but there is a desire to purchase), an audio card is only built into the computer. Goals: voice-over of videos, recording videos on KZfaq or tick tok. Most likely in the future I will buy a sound card. Now I am most inclined to a dynamic microphone, but I am also considering condenser ones. Now the choice has fallen on 2 models from fifine: AM8 and K688. Which of these microphones should I choose, or are there better solutions?

I haven’t tried the K688 so I can’t speak to that but this mic is a good one for voice work.

With Call of Dutys newest “proximity chat” feature in Warzone (battle royale), I sometimes have people tell me that can hear me clicking my keyboard. Is there a way around that? Through software or through a type of microphone. I just want the mic to pick up my voice and not the ambient sound around me. Thank you for your time. Great review.

I noticed that u were playing the game using only usb connection - but the question is - how do you send the sound that comes from the mike to your headphones to monitor yourself - cause I have noticed that software monitoring (via usb) is the way slower that xlr (directly from your soundcard)

We're afraid that's not the case, it's kind of the direct monitoring of an audio interface, that in USB mode, the internal sound card of the AM8 will send the audio of the mic to your headphones and to the computer at almost the same time. Rather than sending it to the computer, and then sending the computer-processed audio back to the mic's headphone jack.

what's the best windows volume and mic gain for this mic? i have this mic and just want to ask some advice from you! :)

Just set it as high as possible before it gets clipped. We would suggest around 90% of the window's volume. As for the dial, it depends on how loud the signal that you're getting. We would recommend running tests with a level meter on Audacity or OBS to see if the meter moves around at decent -12dB.

In order to connect it to my smartphone having usb c port what do i need? Usb c to usb c cable or an otg adapter? Will both of them work? Also will the rgb glow while connected to phone?

Both of them will work. The RGB will light up but do pay a bit more attention to the battery volume of your phone when connecting an external USB device that will draw power from it.

connect xlr and the usb cables and it should eliminate the problem of the non working functions

Nope. Mute does nothing if in XLR. And if the USB stays plugged in, there's plenty of power line interference if you still want to use the built in RGB after you've upgraded to XLR

I’m probably just stupid and didn’t see it in the video but what do I do if my headset is a usb wireless? Would I still be able to use this?

If ur headset is wireless and your pc is only using the mic on the headset go in control panel and go to audio and set the fifine mic as default. This mic however does that by default out the box which is really convenient. Just don’t forget to turn the gain nob when u first get it so you don’t think the mic isn’t working!

Um, yes, as long as you choose the correct output device. That means selecting the internal speaker if you plugged the headphones to your computer while the fifine mic if the headphone is connected to the AM8.

Turn the gain up if it’s the mic volume. Turn up the sound via windows for the headphones if it’s the headphones

If this is a dynamic mic, it wouldn’t and shouldn’t require phantom power though.

at 1:16 he said "the XLR input does not require phantom power, but the cable is not included here"; he also said at 2:21 "now this doesn't require phantom power like I mentioned earlier with the XLR cable..."

It's a bit on the lows, so it could sound not that clear. Try turning up the volume dial to around 80% and using it without the pop filter to see if these can help.
