It has the movement from strange, strange creatures (near the end), a james bond/wild west feel. I love the reeds through out. It has the energy the Doctor has.

There's actually a bit of homage to 11's theme in this! If you listen to the secondary horn that kicks in at 2:43. it's actually a reference to I Am The Doctor, it plays at the end of that track. I love that RTD2 is referencing and showing love to ALL of NuWho.

I agree, it sounds so much like the British jazz composers of the 1960's such as John Barry, Ron Goodwin & Barry Gray. I like this style of music so much, I'm glad Murray's bringing it back in full force

the tenor sax and oboe had me jumping up and down i love woodwinds special mention to the low brass because mwah they sound so good EDIT: it only gets better omfg the electric guitar mixed with the choir, the brass, and the timpanis im absolutely freaking out can anyone tell im a music guy

Am I the only one that teared up while listening to this?? 🥹 I feel like the golden era of DW has returned!! It almost sounds like 11th and 12th's themes mixed together with a sprinkling of 9th and 10th and maybe a little of 8th's music in the background. Like a medley of the past being joined with the new! I am beyond excited rn!! 🙌🏼 Been listening on repeat for a bit. 😆

This slaps so hard that I inadvertently time travelled back to the 1960's!!! Its like John Barry & Lalo Schifrin have been resurrected in the form of Murray Gold. He has outdone himself with this theme.

This is some doctor who ass shit… king shit, if you will, shame Jodie never got a badass score, just a vague leitmotif… that era could have benefited from just fucking believing in its self more… the music will make or break it and I think the lack of distinct themes really effected people’s perception of the era as a whole

Not what I was expecting, but very interesting. For a heroic leitmotif it's got the typical big brass refrains; the chromaticism is giving me a very Golden Age of Hollywood vibe.

SPOILERS FOR THE GIGGLE: When this theme plays as he begins to fly off in the TARDIS, you can hear that (what I think is) the strings section matches up with the TARDIS' thrumming which just adds a cherry on top

It honestly plays like a classic Western score with hints of DW old and new and just a dash of the old AP Films/Gerry & Sylvia Anderson marionette movies and series like Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. It’s quintessentially British in all the right ways. The Stetson image with this music tells you exactly who this doctor is going to be. The Sheriff of the Universe

If you're asking for the Doctor Who music that plays during the intro, that hasn't come out yet. This is the soundtrack theme that is attached specifically to the doctor as a character.

If you mean the opening title music, that’s not going anywhere. Each doctor tends to get their own theme music to play when they’re doing a big speech or epic scene. This is just the latest example.

They've literally reassembled the team that was there when Doctor who was at its biggest, best and most popular since its revival in 2005. This is how you jumpstart the show again. As sad as it sounds, RTD is coming back to steer the ship because nobody else was up to the task.
