Fifth Element Camping, a home on the road when you want it. We are a small manufacturer in North Carolina that makes a plug and play camper system for the Honda Element. The FEC system installs in minutes without modification to the Element. It works with every Element made and can be transferred from one Element to another.
In this video we demonstrate the FEC camper system and tour of our manufacturing facility in North Carolina.

They didn't get to a 2nd gen, but it was a 9 year run of basically the same vehicle so there are a good number out there.

I don't even have an Element but this work and channel deserves a like and subscribe! Actually, my dad has an 07 Element that's been sitting on his drive way for a couple years now. Gonna ask him if he wants to get it running and fix it up. I currently have an '11 Pilot, other than All Terrain tires, i haven't done anything to it since its plenty roomy to sleep in as is when folding down the seats. I plan on converting a cargo trailer into a camper one day. The only change I would make to this system is the finish. I'm not too fond of the wood finish/look, so I would probably paint it all black.

Thank you very much. I painted the very first one black with high end paint. Looked great for a few months and then it started to show every scratch and blemish. It also absorbed a ton a heat and cooked my gear in the cabinet.

Why? Darker interiors make a vehicle hotter, a disadvantage in summer, and the natural wood will show dust less obviously than black (interiors get dusty driving down dirt roads when camping).

As a Current VW Eurovan MV owners that I have done something similar,....(but to a far lesser degree), and a watcher of MANY Van and SUV builds,....and looked at some other nice manufactured camper inserts (Mostly for Dodge Caravans),...I have to say that I feel your design and build is truly the most innovative and beautifully built I have seen. I have recently purchased a Toyota Highlander Hybrid SUV because it will run interior A/C and Heat off the Hybrid (traction) battery overnight so that you always have a perfect sleeping temperature. Any chance you might consider designing a similar package for the Highlander if I brought mine to you from Texas?

I loved my Honda Element. Honda was going to bring it out again. Basically the same, with improved interior quality. The fuel economy was going to be the same. That was a mistake. But I still would have bought one. Great turning radius. I think they scrapped it after covid. Too bad.

It was discontinued way back in 201. They only sold 15,000 Elements in 2011, compared to over 200,000 CRV sold that same year. The turning radius is second to none.

These fitted arrangements are much better than non. What thickness of ply are you using (may have missed it if stated) and could you go thinner in places?

Its mostly 1/2" for weight savings. Anything thinner wouldn't hold our fasteners are hold up well.
