Jose this is so true. And Floyd still has to this day as so many of us a ton of respect and admiration for Genaro Hernandez. I was watching an appearance where Floyd spoke on Hernandez and ask the crowd to acknowledge Hernandez as not only a champ but that brotherhood many of them possess in the ring as competitors and warriors

I always separated the man from the skill. I always respected his skill despite what he does outside. I took up boxing and got hit too much and knew I had to study defence. 2 guys I studied fervently - Pernell Whitaker and Floyd. The more I study Floyd, the more I realize he is a fucking genius!

Most adaptable fighter I've ever seen. And I do mean EVER. He really doesn't ever fight the same way. His fight plan is whatever it takes to beat the guy in front of him. He'll brawl if he has to, box if he has to, wrestle if he has to, potshot if he has to, whatever it takes. He's almost impossible to "train for". I think that's what truly separates him. It wasn't his speed of hand, speed of foot, or defense specifically. It wasn't the tangibles. It was his *ring IQ* and ability to adapt, to come up with a gameplan from scratch _on the fly_ and win no matter what.
