Roy Jones was a freak of nature. Making heads bob like a funko pop. 1 of a kind very special talent.

stephan absorbed a lot of bombs this fight without much reaction, quite amazing considering how fast RJJ put away so many later opponents with far less volume landed.

I wish someone would put together a video of all the commentators comments during the bouts over the years and how wrong they where about the boxers. I hate their comments most of the time. Talking about the boxers family, money, decisions in and out of the ring mocking them not giving them the credit they deserve etc

Commentators talking about jones not punching to the body, whole time Jones lands a couple of solid hooks to the body every round off the other guys jab
@javaidakhtar45442 жыл бұрын
right? he even got a combination of rapid uppercuts to the body whilst in a clinch

I was shaking my head each time. The left hook to the body was included in most combos that Jones put together.

Stephen Johnson will die 10 years later from a bad KO against Paul Vaden (a former champ) in the 10th round of a vacant title bout. Well, two weeks after that fight, technically, but he never woke up. He was winning on the scorecards, and the pay was 10k. Vaden would fight once more, losing a decision - and his title - in a listless performance, before retiring.

You see the same thing with a young Floyd. I think a lot of it has to do with them moving up in weight. Harder to sit down against bigger dudes, and the natural mechanics of their punching changed as they added more muscle mass to their arms and frame. They just look a lot more snappy when they’re younger and leaner.
@FightScienceAa823 жыл бұрын
@@sportcoatjoditv7148 they disqualified Jones and gave him a loss after he tko’d Griffen. Let’s be clear he has over 50 wins no losses and that was at fight everyone, whenever. He could have played in one weight class and never lost. He move up and down and took every risk available to him
