On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

So when you are is in the Viper, nothing has a real chance in a dogfight. But when you're fighting the F-16, that poor Viper is outclassed. I'm beginning to suspect that your claims of "luck" are in reality just the moments when your natural modesty kicks in. Nice flying, sir!

'Slammer' who flew both F-14s and F-16N said 'as long as you keep pointing your nose in a one circle at the Viper, you will keep driving his behavior" This seems to show exactly that.

yeah i think the f-16s dominance is the two circle is both a blessing and a curse. while it can crush anything in the two circle, it also means that the viper pilot has to constantly fear the one circle and adjust his behaviour to avoid it.

@@fruitygranulizer540 Yep, the AoA limiter of 30 degree was designed by Boyd to maintain energy for sustained turning performance in a two-circle fight. Even if you bleed energy pulling 9G in an F-16, just let off the stick a little and it regains the energy faster than most other fighters. However, in a one-circle where the fight could get slow and you need to pull AoA to point the nose on the opponent and turn inside the circle of a Viper.

Nice series on dogfighting! That moment you went verttical recognising a one circle window is my favourite, but I´ve never thinked about it as one circle, more that the opponent burns his energy more than I do, and that gives an opportunity to use the vertical and change directions if you like. Like many have pointed out, that second kill was beautiful. It´s harder to hit something in the russian planes, because those 30 mm shoot more straight, while the US 20 mm works more like a shotgun. Like you have said before, the Flanker may very well be the most beautiful fighter jet ever, although like you I tend to fly the MiG-29 more often. If the J35 Draken comes to DCS there might be a contender the Flanker estethically speaking.

Nice vid. If you're ever thinking of doing one of those "time travel" videos again, I'd like to see what something like an SU-35 or a Gripen or an F-15 or some other modern fighter would do to one of those massive WWII bomber flotillas. Obviously it would just be a turkey shoot, just like the video you made where you're flying around in a Me-262 blowing up WWI planes made of balsa wood and pipe cleaners with four 30mm cannons, but they're just so funny to watch.

Amazing vid GS! As usual 😊. Now I have a question: in the past video from the F-16 perspective, every time the 27 tried cutting your circle it resulted in him losing speed and leading to a offensive posture for the F-16 after several cicles. Now, how was today's video different? the use of the vertical? did the F-16 pilot today made different kind of mistakes that you didn't make in the previous encounter? maybe keeping the correct velocity for the 2 circle? appreciated! take care and happy easter!

Man these fights, you learn a lot from these planes by flying them in combat scenarios. I do got a question though. Who would win in a fight? SU47 or F22?
